MYCOLOR ?

I know "MYCOLOR" controls the 6-gage instrument cluster,... but what about the middle console, ambient lighting, cup holders & door "Mustang" scuff plate, etc...

The reason for concern is that I'm considering the anticipated release of "Yellow Blaze" (Job#2),... To the best of my knowledge, the current "default" interior color scheme is a light blue. Yellow Blaze exterior,... light blue lighting interior, well, I don't have to tell ya how that would look.

If I can change the interior lighting scheme to yellow / red / white,... that would much more pleasing to the eye. But if I can't, change the lighting scheme,... well I like to go ahead and order "Race Red" now. Thx in advance for any feedback !

ambient which includes cup holders and scuff plate can be changed independently of gauges, however the center console cannot be changed (short of replacing all the leds in the dash). honestly when you are inside you wont really notice the exterior color contrast the switches. the ice blue is a pretty cool color though

Is the cluster halo color linked to ambient, or is it separate?

Seperate.
Gauges (my color)
and Ambient can be set interdependantly.

The "halo" around the speedometer and tachometer can be set independently of the gauges and the ambient lighting.

The ice blue in the center stack and other switches CANNOT be changed. Everything else can (Gauges, halos, cup holders, ambient light, door sills).

Well what you could do tho, is make the gauge color some form of yellow to tie into the paint as well as make the ambient lighting the same yellow. Then make the halo ice blue to tie it back into the dash, i really don't think it'll look to bad.

Here's some pics for reference- my hand isn't that steady in some but you'll get the gist.

I'm sure when I get my 2011 I'm going to spend half an hour in the garage with the door closed and the lights off, playing with these settings. I'm thinking that white gauge faces with orange for the halo would look pretty cool.

If I were going to be driving it in winter, I'd have to use red and green at Christmastime and all green on Saint Patrick's day. At least I can do red, white, and blue on Independence day.

what did we do back in the old days when all we had to light up our gauges was a regular mini light bulb?
i didnt hear complints then... but i guess things changed. i personally like the blue and i think that is the color in my new escape i will be getting. its what comes with the car and i cannot change it so it doesnt really matter. i grew up with the green and didnt know any different. i thought the white gauges in my 2001 escape was pretty cool but still had the green backlight. ive never known anything different.

Features like MyColor contribute to the reasons I'm buying a Mustang instead of a Challenger or Camaro. A Mustang is typically thought of as being about customization ... why not the dash colors too? It's one of the neato extras I'm looking forward to.

From what I've read, you can come up with a custom color for the gauge color and save it as Custom1, Custom2, or Custom3. Same for the halo, although not the ambient lighting. A few people have suggested that in the future, Ford ought to allow you to choose a color for the buttons in the steering wheel and console, too.

This has given me an idea to take it all one step further. Ideally, a future Mustang would allow you to set all of these things then save the entire combination as a theme, which you could name. For instance, maybe you'd call a theme "Rosy", Greenie", whatever. You'd record the name through Sync and recall it through Sync, as well. You'd impress your friends when you press the Sync button and say "Color theme: Broncos" and all of your lighting turns to blue and orange or "Color theme: Vikings" and your interior is bathed in purple and white. I can hear the oohs and aahs already. I can picture my mom saying "Wait a minute. What just happened?"
