My timeline

This is my first post. I have been reading and enjoying all of your posts for the past three months, and I thought I would finally chime in. There are so many different stories on this forum concerning orders, build dates, etas and such. I thought I would just take a minute and describe my experience. I ordered my 2011 GT/CS with Shaker 1000 and Glass Roof on March 29th. I ordered it from my local dealer, which is very, very small. We're talking 5 or 6 new vehicles on the lot at a time. When I ordered it it had a priority code of 99. From what I hear that is bad. He told me 60mto 90 days. That's about how long it took to get my 2009 f-150 Platinum, so I wasn't too concerned. I left my dealer completely alone after ordering it. On May 14th he finally called me and told me that he got a vin and a build date of May 24th. Today he called and told me it was built and gave me an eta of June 20th. I have read a lot of horror stories here that have caused me great concern, trust me. But everything my dealer has ever told me has been right. I have been very patient and as long as the eta is approximately correct, I will be a happy person in about 3 weeks. Having not called and bugged my dealer or Ford CS, I have not had any unrealistic expectations. Excited, yes, realistic, yes. Can't even sleep at nights! Now if June 20th comes and goes and I'm still sitting on Ramp 51, my story may change. Until then, thanks to everyone for the great readings and keep posting what you know. I love to hear what everyone thinks is going on. To all those that already have their 2011, have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. The rest of us will be hanging around this forum!

Good luck ! At least your dealer is keeping you posted. Mine has told me little, and only when I kept asking. My car had its one month birthday this week (produced 4/26) and the ETA will be one month ago next week (May 4th). Still sitting in limbo at the plant, but maybe you will be one of the lucky ones.

Thanks for the warm welcome. There are a lot of cool people here. I agree laserred38. That is one thing that I wish I would have skipped. Didn't do enough research. I should have went with the nav. I have it in my truck and love it, but I was afraid it might distract from the nostalgia of the car. Oh well, maybe next time.

This dealer has been in business for over 50 years! Always kept it small. They sell a lot of used cars and mostly special orders. In my opinion, they do it right. Honest, no b.s.! Wish they could all be that way.

Cool cool man. Glad to have you here. My buddy is coming into a sizable amount of inheritance money and we want to start a business. I wonder if we could start our own little tiny Ford dealership haha!

Welcome to TMS Scott. You may very well receive your Mustang before some of us whose cars were built in April. It sounds like the cars that are being built now may be shipped immediately, while the ones that were built over a month ago are waiting for a spare slot on a railroad car.
