My only complaint about the 2011 5.0 is...

For me, I would have to say it's the design of the steering wheel. I do think it looks gorgeous and it's extremely well laid out EXCEPT FOR THE ALUM. TRIM extending out to the edges at 3 and 9. I find that I have to be careful so that my wedding band doesn't scratch or scuff the trim. I found the same problem in my 06 GT.

Anybody else agree?

Yes, my car is a daily driver so I can accept a little bit of wear and tear but the steering wheel issue bothers me as it is right in front of my eyes always.

Actually, I would like to add one more thing-love the mycolor scuff plates but I find that they scratch really easily.

Other than that, love the other 99.8% of the car

Even after a month, I still have perma-grin

Hmm I don't have that issues with the steering wheel, I hardly touch that part it seems like.

My complaint is I wish I could change the colors of the stereo stuff, wish I could make it match the other colors that we get to change

Yeah, that would be cool. I have all my colors set to red except for the ring around the gauges which is green. I wonder if there is an aftermarket upgrade for that? Anyone know?

My complaint is the storage for small items. Behind my elbow is not very accessible while driving. I like to keep the cupholder shut and you have to be careful not to lodge something in there if you close it. The storage on the doors are good for only very small items.

It would have been nice to have a cubbyhole under the radio.

Guess you could just put a piece of duct tape over the aluminum, that would keep it from getting scratched...

The steering wheel sucks at the track, I wish they would have left space at 9-3 for your hands to go all the way around the wheel.

o well.... working around it.

The steering wheel doesn't bother me, but I can see how some people wouldn't like it. What DOES bother me is the button placement on the center console. My elbow hits it and opens it all the time. Other than that I love my car.

I'm sure that someone with a base car would be happy to swap steering wheels so that you won't have any problems with those pesky aluminum spokes getting scratched...

The wheel is beautiful though. I don't mind taking my jewelry off

I'd just get rid of the wife. More money for mods.

I guess it’s designed as a 10 and 2 wheel. What I would really like is a telescopic wheel. I like to sit far back with my legs stretched out but cant because my arms don’t comfortably reach, unless my seat back is at something like 90 degrees. Now I’m only really sitting a few inches closer to reach the wheel but that’s enough to bend my legs with my feet up against the engine wall. I’m only 5’ 9” at 165 pounds. How do big guys squeeze in and out this car?

The wheel works fine for me at 9-3... only my thumbs end up touching the aluminum part.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of the wheel design. The ergo is not the best (it's not bad), but I did like the one in my Z a lot better.

My biggest issue is the lack of storage. I had more usable storage space in my smaller 370Z. I look around the Mustang and see spaces where Ford could have integrated extra storage space. For instance, the bottom of the center stack (where the SYNC logo is) has plenty of space for a small storage cubby w/ door. This would be perfect for housing randoms... wallet, toll money, etc.

The door storage areas are also in a weird position... you almost have to reach backwards to access them, and they are very small and otherwise useless.

My only issue so far is the skip shift. I've had it occur several times in the first week of owning the car. I'm getting better now at avoiding it, but I wish it could be disabled.
