My new 5.0
My new 5.0
I took advantage of the deals Ford has right now and finally got me a 5.0. Just drove it home today so I don't have much driving time to give a real impression.
First thing I noticed was how quiet it is! I have to roll down the windows to hear anything. Also the car seems much more solid than the old car(of course) and it feels a lot heavier. I think that's due to the 19" wheels. It's been a while since I drove a manual(my last manual was a 92 5.0) and man what a difference! There is absolutely no play in the shifter and the clutch is about a 100 times lighter than the 92. I've gone from 2nd to 5th twice because I am so used to having to move the shifter more to get it into the next gear. Love the new interior but I'm not crazy about the info center buttons being moved over by the headlight switch. Guess I will get used to that. Sync has got to be my favorite feature. Still learning all of the functions but there is so much more to it than i thought.
My last car was a 2006 Satin Silver GT Premium with an automatic. This new car is a 2011 Kona Blue GT Premium with a manual, Brembos and 3.73s. It also has a white over the top stripe that was a $475 option. I personally wouldn't have ordered the stripe but this was the closest car I could find with all the options I wanted. Sorry if these pics aren't professionally done like most of the pics I see here but i was in a hurry.

She's awesome!!! Just a great looking car! Have fun.
If those are just vinyl stickers, why not just remove them? If you want to. I think they're fine!

LOL! Took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about!
Yeah, I'm giving them a chance though. I wanted to hear what other people thought and it seems like a lot of people like them.
Thanks everyone for the kind words!

Thomas, count me in with the group that likes the stripes - I think they look awesome! I like all the variations of the "over the top" stripes that I have seen. I didn't order mine that way, but seriously am considering them after delivery. It is an awesome looking car!
BTW, my last Mustang was a brand-new 1967 hardtop bought in early 1967 - 200 ci V6 with a 3-spd on the floor and AM radio. I think the sticker was a little over $2400 bucks. I worried how I was going to make the $75 a month payment too...
Imagine the difference I will feel in "upgrading" to a new 2012 convertible - LOL!
Enjoy your ride friend.

Thanks man! The stripe is starting to grow on me and a bunch of people have been telling me they love it. So it stays for now.
I feel you on the prices! My 92 5.0 was $16,000, my 05 V6 was $22,000, my 06 GT Premium was $29,000 and now this car was $36,000. I don't know if I'll be able to afford another GT if they keep going up in price this way! My pay isn't going up that fast!
