My girlfriends 2011 Ford Escape sounds better then my car.

I use her car when I need to make some runs here and there to haul some stuff and every time I drive it I'm like **** this Escape sounds better then my Shaker 500. I know there are a lot of posts on this but had to vent.

Hmmm, I have to be the outsider here. I have no problem with the radio. Sounds a lot better then the one in my 2005 Ford F150!

I have a 2009 Escape limited and waiting on a 2013 Titanium, and all i can say is that it does not sound any better in the Escape than it does in the Mustang . They're good quality , but aftermarket ones are better. But i 'm happy with mine .

What kind of music are you listening to? I've never had any issues with the shaker 500, I think it works quite well actually.

I've found I get about the best sound with the 500 for classic rock to blues to acoustic stuff with the balance set to rear seating and roll the bass off a bit and the volume up a bit. Course it varies with this inconsistent mp3 crap from cd to cd depending on how it recorded. Some are muddy some aren't.

Either way it really doesn't matter. I prefer the sound of my machine working through that glorious Bullitt exhaust.

I can't even hear my radio until the speakers start distorting out. Car is just too loud I think.

We just picked up a '13 SEL/1.6 with the technology package and SONY HD radio, and it's way better than what was in the '08 Escape. But I honestly can't tell the difference between that and the Shaker in the Mustang.

You'll be happy with the Titanium if for no other reason than the seats. They look quite a bit better, and I suspect they sit better than the 'other' leather in the SEL. Wife is happy tho... so there it is.

KC, thx for the heads up, mine should come in early August. Seats in the '09 are crap. I ordered the full leather seats for the Titanium.

I have a base radio, although a step down from my last car I really can't complain. Missing some base but turned up still blasts the song plenty good.
If I tap the gas just right my GT500 axle backs replace the bass just fine

I didn't buy my GT for the sound system, shaker or not... I bought my GT for the "SOUND SYSTEM" - and believe me, it SHAKES, and that's with the speakers off....
