Man, you just make sure you post a picture of that baby when you get it because I got my sights set on that Grabber Blue. Knowing Harr Ford, they'll have every other color but that one for a minute. Congrats!

You can place an order now? I didn't realize that. What options/packages are available?

You can't place an order! They can only take a deposit, and put your name on a list to place orders, in sequence of who came in first, once the order guides become available and the order banks open up. I hope you got a receipt and its refundable, if anything happens. I never take deposits on anything we can't offically order and have copies of. This is protection for the customer and also us as well. Never want to disappoint anyone.

+1^^

that is just dumb business when the 09 has only been on the lot for what, two months? good thing ford is only making a limited number of 09's because the dealership is not interested in selling them apparently

Frankie,

Don't give 'em your $500! There's no order guide yet!! As 05fordgt mentions, they are giving you a "spot" on a dealership list to only place an order.

Yup! AND THERE IS NO PRICING!!! You gave them your money, but no price has been talked about. Even if they said something to the term of "well sell it for $XXX over invoice", but without a purchase order/buyers order, they can legally say there was no agreement on a discounted price (your word vs them). Now not all dealers are like this (we're not). I tell ANYONE who is ordering a car and leaving a deposit, to get a buyers order (purchase agreement), signed by both the buyer and manager on duty! This is your "golden ticket' in case the dealership wants to play games with anyone.

BTW, what did they say about price, if I may ask?

They said it would be $1,000 over the 2009s? Thats a pretty bold statement to say, considering the car will have ALOT of new stuff added to it. I think it may cost a little more than that. The 2009 F150s are pricey and its a new body and interior.

Good luck, dude! And be careful!! I've seen other "family-run" establishments focus on their profit (given the tough economic climate) over friendship before! Any price is a guess right now, however, if you have written language that specifies "dealer invoice price" (and I won't get into holdbacks), you might be protected. The other thing they hopefully have is the allocation numbers, but I imagine that might be up in the air some, depending on how fast they ramp up production.

You can bring it to the 45th!

53 people already? Thats a lot of allocation for one dealer, especially a family run dealership. Dont know exactly how it runs out, but it sounds to me like you will be lucky to get one in the first six months! Not trying to rain on your parade, but thats a lot of mustangs!

They owned three Ford dealerships in tri-state area, but I bought 15 Mustangs from that dealership since 1985.

So does that mean they have 53 people on a list for all three dealerships? Also, is that a new 'stang every year for you?
