My Deep Impact Blue GT is home

This car is heads and shoulders above any other Mustang I have previously owned (2000 GT with a Vortech blower, 2003 GT with gears and a really mild cam). Even with the automatic and 3.15 gears it moves, and I love the HID headlights.

Went to Sandy Springs Ford in Atlanta, GA to get it. They have about 60 Mustangs in stock (the showroom held 1 Boss 302 and 6 Shelby's), nice guys to deal with.

I did manage to stretch her legs on the way home and even at speeds above the posted interstate limit it still has plenty of power, makes me wonder how much better a tune would make it!!

That's the dilemma, you'll always be wondering, and not totally happy. So just bite the bullet. It's worth it.

That brings up a question: Do the tuners leave a "fingerprint" in the PCM?

Word is yes but the tunes especially from Steeda are safer and more efficient than stock programming . Run the car brisk and spirited through 1000 miles. If all is well , the car is fine. Change the oil to a base 4'synthetic and tune it. I tuned mine and installed the CAI at 1000 miles during the first oil change. I now have almost

16,000 miles and couldn't be stronger. I'm much faster and I get 26-28 MPG on the highway. I run 12.20s 10 out of10 times in the 1/4, hot lapping. No manual will do that.

How did you come to the conclusion that the tune from Steeda is safer than the stock tune?

I think he meant the Steeda tune is safe. I have a steeda tune and a BBR tune. Both really wake up my Kona.

Same way companies claim a drop in filter will give you 8% horsepower gain

After speaking with their tuner "Gus" at length many times, he thoroughly explained the inherent flaw with the #8 and how it's remedied with their tune. Keep in mind the many stock #8 cooked pistons and the #8 pistons cars tuned by reputable companies have cooked. None by reputable tuners (Steeda, BBR, amazon racing).
