My brother-in-law bought a used 2011 GT500

My brother-in-law bought a used GT500 last week. Black on black exterior with black interior. It's wicked looking! I love the black stripes on the black paint. Very subtle, almost like ghost flames. He had it dynoed at Fun Ford Weekend in Houston and it made 523HP / 511TQ at the rear wheels. I'm trying to get him to join TMS and stop hanging around with his Vette buddies.

God I love those Shelbys. I'm pretty sure my next car is going to be a GT500.

Looks sweet. I don't know what's better black with black stripes or black with grabber stripes.

He bought it in Beaumont, TX from a Ford dealer. Being that Beaumont is just over the border from Louisiana then it's possible I suppose.

I'm assuming it came with a pulley swap because that GT500 ain't stock with those HP numbers. Looks good!

I thought that as well but it looks to be the stock pulley. The guy that did the dyno tunes GT500's and he didn't seem surprised by the numbers.

Those numbers are way too high for a stock GT500. If it's still running the stock pulley that dyno is way off. The car should be running in the 480-490 range to the wheel at most. 523/511 is pulley swap territory.

If it was also tuned and not just dyno'd, I don't see the numbers far off at all. And I've also heard of some really good numbers coming out of a few bone stockers too.

A lot of shops inflate dyno numbers. Considering I had the same car and wasn't coming close to 523 bone stock on a properly configured Dynojet. Nor was anyone I knew from the GT500 forums I frequent. As for tuning with just the stock pulley the factory tune is already pretty aggressive. There isn't a whole lot of room for improvement unless you want to take it to the edge.

Yeah, it would put it over 600 at the flywheel.
