Just got got back from a great drive. Left home (Akron, Oh) at noon Fri. and drove to Wytheville Va. Got up Sat AM and drove south to the BRP. Had some rain but really enjoyed the drive. Saw a new (black w/white stripe) GT going the other way. Drove west to the Tail of the Dragon and then up to Knoxville where we spent the night. Finished the drive home today. The car is great. I averaged 23mpg w/3.55 gear, which I feel very good about.

Drive that car. That's what it's for. If you mean Wytheville, just north of Clarksville, VA, you probably had some pretty tranquil riding. Not much traffic out there. I go to Clarksville every week to visit my father. It's a nice ride.

So how did it do on the Dragon? I am going up there sometime this week since they just got it back open. FIgured I would let the cops thin out first and I am 20 Minutes away from the end when I leave work.

 

I thought it was amazing. Had my wife screaming at me, she thought she was going to die. I just said relax and enjoy. I've never owned a car that cornered so flat. Actually, I liked 28 going to Geals Gap better, more time between turns. I had a sport bike behind me and he made no attempt to pass.

 

If you ever come back down you will need to run up on Cherohala Skyway, it has much longer straights and the corners are not quite as tight, the difference in running 50-80 or so on the Skyway Turns VS 30-50 on the Dragon turns in my 08 Mazda 3. The Skyway to me is much better then I come home the Dragon where all the Photographers are
