Mustang GT w/Brembo VS California Special

That looks like candy to me. Yea the color too!!! Option 3 gt/cs for me. I have a
candy red gt/cs vert. The HIDs look awesome with the small lower fogs on the CS.
I also love the rear diffuser look on the GT/CS. I dont need Chrome 5.0 badges, as
soon as you start it up it speaks for itself. The car does turn heads and you will love
the way it runs.

I had a similar decision to make and went with the Brembo's. I added the coupe accessory package which gives it more of a CS look (my opinion). That way I was also able to get the sterling gray. In the end it's whatever you like.

I went with Brembos and immediately (1 week) added a billet upper and lower grille along with CDC chin spoiler. I love my Brembo package and wouldn't trade it. But the wheels on the 402a package are sexy as hell.

$2000 for an appearance package or
$1700 for a performance package.
Depends on your priority.
If performance is your priority in a performance car, get the Brembos package. There's more to it than just brakes that you can't really "add" on later, especially for the cost.
You can always add appearance parts onto a car, and this way you can pick and choose the appearance parts as you desire.
No brainer.

Eric, Can you post pictures of the front portion of your pony? I would really like to see what the grille looks like.
As for the Brembos, I have not priced anything out yet, but I think new tires would be roughly $100 more a tire compared to the CS rims... Is that fair to say?
I like the Candy CS, but I just have a problem paying extra $$$ for a color. It's kinda like paying extra for a dark chrome grille on the CS instead of the standard one.

Tirerack top 5 sorted by User Rating:
Brembo - 255/40/19 -- $240-322 each
GT/CS - 245/45/19 -- $170-235 each
The main difference is the big difference in selection between the two sizes. Brembos would be so much nicer if they came in .5 inch wider so you could go to 275/40(or 35)/19 size.

Brembo Suspension is a little firmer. I would drive both a Brembo and a GT w/ 19" Wheel Option (Doesnt have to be CS) before making up my mind. If you want a Coupe make sure you drive Coupes as Convertibles have different suspension tuning.

If you don't want or need max performance tires on a Brembo brake package car, when it comes time to replace tires, you can go with the same all season tires that are on the non Brembo cars. The difference in price for a 255/40/19 tire and a 245/45/19 tire of the same brand and rating would probably be about $5 per tire.
The sole reason the Brembo brake option wheels are 9 inches wide instead of 9.5 is because the GT500 gets the 9.5 inch wide wheels and clearly they want the GT500 to have the wider wheels since you pay $10k more for that car.
At least the Brembo brake car gets 1/2 wider wheels than non Brembo brake cars.

I never thought about test driving the car to feel out the suspension. Has anyone done that? If so, are there noticible differences between a Brembo and just a 19" rim GT?
As for the 9" rim size, can't you put 275's on there? There is surely room to expand the tire size (from visually looking at some on the lot). When I had my 1995 Mustang GT, I had 275's on there. I believe the rim size was 8". I don't think anyone has changed their tires yet on the 2011, but I am pretty sure you could go with 275's on the Brembo. Anyone change out their tires yet? I guess this is a good reason to go the GT over the CS.

I think you have already seen mine, but I dont think you can go wrong with the Brembo Black/Red option...I have no regrets on mine! The only thing I would change if I could is getting a GT/CS front end...but it was not an option when I ordered. I dont care for the GT/CS grill though. In a few weeks I will be getting a Roush front end with fog lights to solve that little issue
If you would like any specific pics or specific performance opinions lemme know!

Valcad, you are most welcome! I searched on the forums forever, couldn't find one comparing my options... So, I just decided to create a thread on it to get input. I am glad it helped you too. I am also starting to look into HID conversion kits. Ford charges 1000 for the HID's (includes security package), which is rediculous. Not to mention, I personally don't think they look good with fog lamps on the GT. But, the kit below is nice...

50H30H2 - I got to test drive cars with the options I was looking for except the Brembo package. No dealer had a car with them in stock so I took the plunge and ordered with the Brembo's. This is just my opinion but the ride seems rougher, probably the 40 tires. Road noise also seem more noticeable. Would I order the Brembo's if I had it to do over again, you betcha!!! Just my 2 cents.
