Might as well show the add from 2011. Sterling Grey V6 and everything. At least that was stirring. I'm almost sure that Ford's marketing department will ever get it. Hyundai and Kia out advertise worse cars than Ford can. Screw it just use Mike for all of your commercials since they can't think of anything else worthwhile.
Whatever happened to showing your best model on the advertisement? I haven't seen a single commercial with a Corvette involved that wasn't a ZR1 in years.

Was anyone else reminded of KITT?

I don't love the 2013 styling much either; it's doing the opposite of growing on me. The more I see it, the less I like it.
However, I like the spot especially as it's intended for people who have some interest in cars (they're watching the Daytona 500) but not necessarily are gearheads like most of us. I like that the overall message is that there's a Mustang out there for you, no matter if you want a pink V6 couple or a black GT-500 convertible. That's part of what resonated so strongly with people when the car first launched in 1964; remember, the Mustang was the first car to truly have a huge options list to let you customize the car to your needs. I like this spot being inspired by that.
However, I have a hard time seeing the sales numbers changing much in the next two years; the car still has the same semi-retro look many people don't like, and with gas prices creeping back up, sports coupes aren't at the top of the wish list for many people. However, when the 2015 with radically different styling and probably a 35+ MPG EcoBoost four debuts, that might change things.

They said the same thing when the 2010 came out!! Just go back to 1974 if you want to see the ugliest Mustang but that's just my opinion.
