I like the new metal pony on the steering wheel better than the plastic one from the 05+.

its the defroster vent for the side windows. you must not live in a cold climate where you need to use those a few months of the year.

Circular side vents

Seeing that the gauges chrome bezel is now more inset and flush with the dash the vents won't protrude out as much...ala new F-150.

I still feel ripped-off regarding steering wheel mounted audio controls! You can see extra slots on the wheel spokes, yet they were never utilized for something EVERYbody really wanted. What a failure on Ford's part. At least they finally added HID headlights, which is a start.

Also, I wish the black plastic (area by the cupholders) wouldn't dent so easily... you drop your keys, a can of soda, a cell phone, and the plastic can get a scratch/mark/dent enbedded permanently. It's too soft for such a "utility" style area.

I think they'll have to becuase they need to make a seal for the window defroster...remember that air now has to transfer from the dash into the door panel.

ive had steering wheel controls on two cars before the mustang and i can't say i miss them that much. having no steering wheel controls also makes installing an aftermarket unit a bit easier.

That's "retro" styling not laziness. Look at any Mustang from the '60s. The dash doesn't wrap around into the door. Just because it's not a contemporary style (i.e. like every other new car) doesn't mean it's "bad".

I know that's how the old Mustangs' interiors are. But, they could've done something. I think it's just the color of the interior that makes it stand out. I can't see the edge in my friends dark charcoal interior Mustang. Then again, I can't see much of anything in there.

If I remember correctly the S197 mustang was originall set to have steering wheel audio controls but it was scrapped early on. If they plan to do anything with the sync they almost have to add it on the 2010
