Modding is a disease :)
Even though i plan on selling my '11 at the end of summer I went out...well I ordered a gt500 3dcarbon spoiler. Going to be taking it to the shop to get painted on Wednesday, really no hurry since i plan on putting it on when the temp gets above 50 for a week here in Michigan.
Anyone else have any "why did I buy that" stories?

Every ****** day.
2 years ago I said 'my 05 is fine, I'll just wait for the next model'
Last season, I put in a GT500 wheel, shift ****, Boss Quad exhaust.
I have parts waiting for the spring to add once it gets out of hibernation
It truly is a sickness.

I've never modded a car before this one, except for Jeeps (and those mods were necessary since I use them heavily off-road). It's hard to say whether I'd mod a car I meant to sell; I probably wouldn't, since I wouldn't get the money back out of it (but that's true of 99% of mods anyway). It is a disease, however. I've changed my mind on my limits at least three times with mine, and recently did again while telling myself that this was the LAST time I would do so. I don't do many visual mods though, meaning all of mine so far have been for performance or convenience only with the exception of wheels that I'll be getting roughly a month or so from now, so there is a point after which modding the car for the purposes of performance becomes pointless. We'll see, though. There are a couple of things I've got bouncing around in my head.

Stang is a mod-friendly car? Hmm, more like mod-necessary car. It makes you want to mod it.
The very first thing I noticed when I bought the car was how notchy the shifting was (and clunk noise everytime engage/disengage clutch at low speed). Many will want to (and did) replace/upgrade shifter mechanism with...mgw for instance. Hey, a mod just took place here.
The uuutube is part of this btw. All of those exhaust videos are just too much to take I know you wanna do it its like watching adult videos. Does Borla sound familiar to you?
What about that 4x4 look and those huge wheel gap you got there. And such a fatass she will go sideways at wot maybe you ought to do something about that huh. Another mod.
Mod mod mod. Disease? maybe. Obsession? more so. Or both. and everything else.

I'm getting Corsa axlebacks later this week, and will probably be selling the stock mufflers. The wheels I'm selling also when the new ones come in.
Edit: the wheels aren't the stock GT500 wheels, just so you know.

Yeah... It was a good chunk of change. lol
It was either REALLY mod my GT, or sell for a Wrangler or Raptor... something with four doors and an auto for the wife.
... and then I saw a Boss... test drove... and well now the damage is done.
I agree with the above stated though... I'd like to leave stock... but it's just too much fun to personalize or upgrade. lol
Wheels are next for me... but not for a LONG time.

Bummer :/ I love the Performance Pack wheels. To the OP, My car was modded before I even took delivery! I purchased the quad GT500 axle backs and had the dealer install them as part of the deal when the car arrived.

Just a couple bolt-ons right?
But really, you have some of the best quality mods. No being chinzy with it.

Deysha, I'm still sticking to my story. She's stock... 100%. Honest
p.s. I remember tracking the car with you as it got shipped from Michigan and had 4 miles on her. Then watching her get off the truck. That was almost 3 years ago. What fun.
