Mobil 1 for the 5.0: Serendipity

I managed to score some Mobil 1 5W-20 at Advance Autoparts at a pretty good deal so I decided to go ahead and buy it for the 2011 5.0.

3 gallons is normally $83.97 ($7.00 Qt)
3 gallons at $65.97 on Sale - Buy $60 get $25 Off Promo Code is $40.97 ($3.41 Qt)
3 gallons at $65.97 on Sale - Buy $50 get $20 Off Promo Code is $45.97 ($3.83 Qt).

So 6 gallons takes care of the first 3 oil changes after break-in is over.

Funny thing is the Date Code: They are all D26A which is April 26, 2010.
Guess what my cars build date is.... 4/26/2010.
Happy Birthday! Guess you might say they were made for each other!

Might be old fashioned, but I'll stick with a "break-in" period. You go ahead with the "break-it" period.
IMHO, LOL!

Basically engines today never fail if you follow the owners manual...I'll bet you could change the oil every 10,000 miles ( as recommended) and not have an engine issue for 200,000 miles. You'll have issues with all the accessory stuff like a power window or A/C or electronics. Spending that extra money just makes the owner feel good.
