minor paint defects?
Has anybody else noticed this? On my hood and roof I have a few small blemishes in the clearcoat, maybe .030~.05" in diameter. They appear to be areas where there is limited to no clearcoat to my eye and are hard to see in direct sunlight, but more obvious under garage lighting. My car was sitting in multiple lots in Detroit for four months with all the holds and shipping issues, so I wonder if this is from air polution.

If the air polution was so bad in Detroit that it led to your clearcoat being messed up after four months outside, can you imagine what everyone's car there would look like?
You either have a defect from the factory or something got on your paint (i.e. Bird crap) that left a blemish.
If it is a blemish, try a claybar. If that doesn't work, try a polish.
I had a few blemishes on my hood/roof that I didn't notice until my first good car wash. It needed a little work from my PC 7424xp to get it out.

Claybar it first for sure.. the dealership supposedly "prepped" my car but I still noticed little white dots all over it that had to be claybarred to come off. It's a pretty wonderful thing.. claybarring that is.
