You already ordered your MGW right? It's just waiting to be installed?
Yes indeed sir.
It is sitting out in the garage along with the Roush GHIG shift ball.

George if you're listening, I need some advertising fees... or an updated shifter sent to my house?
Shouldn't that mean I get the advertising fees, since I am the one who compelled you to make this thread?

Is the dust boot truly as bad as I keep hearing? I am wanting to do a shifter replacement and from I hear MGW is the best. I am just starting to dread the install after hearing about it and reading this thread.

With the new revision, not so much. I found it extremely easy.

Nah... Not too difficult. Annoying for sure, but doable.

Just watch the video MGW put on YouTube beforehand. And you won't have any issues

Ok cool, it will stay on the to do list then for sure. The stock shifter is a killer!

With the new version of the shifter you reuse the stock boot. It was pretty easy to get seated properly. Honestly the hardest part of the install for me was removing the shift ****. It was beastly torqued on. I didn't have a channel lock pliers large enough to break it loose. I had to go buy a strap wrench.

Nahhh i figured it was already well documented from you veterans. It was a fairly easy and fun install. Amazing craftsmanship on this shifter. And the kit was put together perfectly. Everything you needed was there and the video was spot on perfect. Well done MGW!

I had to take off the shift **** today for an aftermarket head unit install. It definitely was torqued on there, I wasn't expecting It, but it worked out. Glad to hear the revision changed all of this!

Since you live in GA, call them up and make an appt and George will install it *free of charge*. Nothing to worry about the dust boot then.

I have read nothing but good about the MGW shifter in this forum and elsewhere and I want it. It would be my first mod as it is recommended to be but what about the warranty? I bought my 2014 GT last month and have asked the salesman (a friend of mine) to check with the dealerships position on the MGW install.

Just like any mod, it only affects your warranty if the mod directly caused the failure/issue.

I called my dealer ( they have a Mod Shop on site) and they told me it does not void any warranty. They actually sell them along with the Ford racing shifter. $$599 installed for the MGW and $529 for the Ford.

Don't sweat the warranty, install it after watching the vids and you won't regret it!

Thanks FromZto5, pminri and ace72ace for the information. I have watched the videos and as far as I'm concerned, I am ordering the MGW and the Mustang composite ****. Can't wait to get it installed and run through the gears.

Anytime! I'm not sure how many dealerships have a onsite mod shop but I do know Tasca Ford (where I bought my car) is pretty tight with Ford ( the whole Bob Tasca story is very interesting) and I trust them to tell me what will void any warranty(s).
