Metallic **** remedy
That is my only one complaint: the metallic ****.
It heats up so fast when exposed to the sun making it impossible to shift, unless you're insensitive to burning your hand.
before after
Don't get me wrong, this absolutely does not prevent the heat from reaching the ****, so when you take off the cover, it is still burning bad.... But, leave the hand made cover on and you can still shift that way, and save the day!

I wear gloves. Just because I can. It makes me feel important.

Believe it or not, the inspiration for the metal gearknob came from the Ford Puma. J Mays wanted it in the '05 Mustang, but I guess it didn't make it for cost reasons. Here in England, heat wasn't the problem, COLD was! In the winter it was like grabbing a block of ice!
My Mustang sports a Hurst shifter, so it has the same tactile quality, but without any temperature worries!

A lot of people have been ordering custom ***** from CJ Pony. They have the new 2011 six speed pattern since I sent them an E-mail.

If I had a new GT with the 401A ****, I would purposely let it sit in the sun all day, then grab it with my bare hand to have the shift pattern branded into my palm. Because that's how I roll.
