Major Issue with 2012 Mustang GT 5.0 Manual

Hello everyone, Im writing today because I have a nasty issue with my current setup. I recently purchased a Boss Intake, BBK85mm throttle body, steeda cold air, Ford Racing X-Pipe and GT500 mufflers. I finally had some time to install my purchases from American Muscle.com. I would like to mention, that I am a vehicle mechanic with the USAF and an ASE Master Tech, this is my first Ford, so I would love to get a collective answer or possible solutions. I installed all the components with the supplied instructions and torque values and if I was in doubt i consulted Alldatapro.com. I called American Muscle.com and told them my issue and major sure they had all my modifications accounted for when they "built the turn" and this noise and issue is my car "defueling"

It sounds like the timing is WAAAAYYYY to far advanced and the system is running extremely lean

Also After I turn the vehicle off and try to start it a few more times it runs half way normal, but one at operating temp, it starts bump and miss fire with a dull hollow popping from the intake.

*Today, I removed and reinstalled all products and reflashed my Mustang with Bama's 91 Octane Tune and still have the same results.*

Lastly, Has anyone had any issues installing the Ford Racing Xpipe, I can't get the pipe to seal correctly from the X-pipe to the Cats

Any Ideas or Insight?

Here is a short Video of my Car on Youtube, I can't load it on here for some reason and its short, because the knocking gets loader and more violent

THere are many reviews of poor fitment of the FRPP X-pipe. Most had to have the pipe welded on. I would call AM and have them check your tune. Its possible the tune was not adjusted for the Boss Intake. It would definitely cause some running issues. If you have the time re-install the factory intake and see if the issue still exists with the Bama Tune they sent you

I have sent American Muscle my video link and the description of the issue, I am waiting for a reply now, but since Im living in Germany with the military there's a little bit of a time difference

I see, I tried adjusting the Xpipe several times but still right at the Cats it leaks no matter how much i straighten the pipe and clamp it down, also i removed the JLT oil/air separaters and put on the factory air box with the boss installation kit air pipe and it ran much better but still im getting a nice pop in the exhaust and through the air box.

Chad,
Have you got a tune for the correct fuel? I think the US and Europe derive their octane ratings different, although your getting 91 in Germany it maybe a lot higher than that on a US rating. Just a thought.

Hope you get it sorted soon and I often fly through RMS in a 74 so I will look out for your Stang

Zenarc87,

I'm really sorry to hear about the issues your experiencing. This sounds very odd, But I'm confident my Bama team will get you squared away very quickly! Our tunes are good 99% of the time. Occasionally there are errors because we hand write each tune. Majority of the time, its Small human error when filing your tune information form or by a Bama Member!

I know your already awaiting response from the Bama team but Shoot me a PM with your order # included & I'll have my head Tuning Specialist Mike Wilson contact you directly!

Most importantly, Thank you for your service and bravery!

-Dan
