Lowering problems

Im runnin 285/35/20 35offset rear and 255/35/20 30offset front no rubbing at all, now my question is... I want to put the SR Springs so is gonna lower my car about 1.5'' would this cause my car to rub? Help plz[/I]

Those are some aggressive offsets. You will probably rub on every bump you hit. Your car looks fine as is, those rims look amazing and the tire sizes fill up the gap. Why do you want to lower it?

You can eyeball it to give yourself a general idea. Is the tire flush with the lip of the fender is does it protrude past it. I'd say you'd have a good chance of rubbing especially once you have a rear passenger.

No the tires dont fill the gap, i think the tires are flush or at least close to been flush with the fender this is a pic ot the gap i have

Take a picture looking lengthwise down the side of the car so we (and you) can see if the tires are sticking out. Front wheel must be straight. From the side it is hard to tell, but looks like the rear is sticking out . . . so yes it will probably rub. I'm surprised it is not rubbing over big bumps already, when the rear suspension travels all the way down. The stops don't change when you lower, you just lose that first inch of travel.

The fronts will be fine. The rear has a very high chance of rubbing. Your rear offset is very aggressive for our body style. I ran 20x10 +40 with 305/30/20 and H&R Supersport (similar drop) and I rubbed. Dropped down to 275/35 and no more rub. I feel like I would've been okay with 285/35s, but didn't want to chance it. That said, your wheels are pushed out another 5mm, which is about 1/4", so you have that much less room to play with and your tires are 10mm wider than my 275s (5mm on each side, obviously).

It's gonna be close...only one way to find out.

Its hard to get a pic fron the top cuz u dont know what angle to put it so i put those pics to see if the might help

Like I said, it's gonna be close. Every car is a little different. You will for sure need an adjustable PHB to center the axle. Everyone will say you don't need anything else, but I highly recommend doing everything on the rear end when you lower the car that much...

New LCAs, LCA relocation brackets, adjustable UCA to fix the pinion angle, UCA mount, and adjustable PHB. To properly lower than S197 that much, all of these things are a no brainer. Otherwise everything will be out of spec.

It's hard to tell in the pics, but it looks like an adjustable panhard bar is in order at the stock height already, lowering would make it worse. Take that axel shift away and you might be okay. The only way to be certain is to go for it, just be prepared to buy new rims if it rubs. The tires will transfer over with a better offset, 35mm in front, and 40mm to 50mm in the rear. Good luck!

I agree with Trumpetlon, looks like you need an adjustable panhard bar. Unless it is the angle of the pic, your drivers side wheel is sticking out further than the passenger side.

Ok so what if I roll or pull my fenders would that fix the problem,?

You can't roll the fenders since they don't have a lip, but some have had success pulling the fender out. Not sure if it's something I'd try since you have the chance to distort that area once it's pulled out.

This should never have happened. This forum, and many others, have multiple threads on wheels, tires, offsets and panhard bars with solid information. There is absolutely no reason to get creative and waste a bunch of money. You've got the wrong offset on some nice looking wheels. Also, those tires are too narrow for the wheel width. Thank heavens you didn't lower it yet before asking advise.
