Loud noise in rear end.

When I get above 120mph I get a loud roaring noise from the back seat area of the car. I've only been above 120 twice and it's done it both times. My 07 GT didn't do this.

Was your wife riding in the back seat? I've heard that wives often do make loud angry noises above 120 mph.

If my wife was in the back seat I would know what the sound was and where it was coming from.

I don't have gas. My problem is how am I going to the Service manager to ride with me at 120 to 130. If any of you guys have had your car at that speed have you noticed any loud noise ?

I THINK I read about something similar but don't remember the details or where. It may have been on the AFM forums. Best I can remember it was wind getting in somewhere in the trunk. Someone who had the same problem and solved it solved the mystery. But I can't swear to that. Wish I could help more.

A loud roaring sound and it continues as the car decelerates to below 120. It's something new to me. I'm just trying to see if this is normal. Like I said before my 07 did not do this.

Either you guys are slow drivers or I'm the only one with this problem.

I have only had mine above 120 a handful of times and I've never noticed any unusual noises from the rear end at any speed.

Never heard anything from mine either, and I actually got mine up to 135 before shutting down! Oh, I was on a Race track where you are allowed to run your car. I was actually pretty surprised at how well planted the Mustang was at high speeds. There was a little bit of wind noise, but that is normal. Otherwise, very smooth and quiet

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll have to keep it under 120. I was thinking it could be the driveshaft and I'll have the dealer check that.

Is it possible to record the sound and post it?

I'm away from my car for a couple of weeks. When I get back home I'll try to record it.

That's weird...I have no clue what it could be and I pretty sure the dealership wont either. Id take it to a trusted speed shop to have it looked at....
