Same here, it seems as if they're filtering their questions and picking the ones that are most convenient to answer. Too bad.

I'm not sure. I happened to see the chat info posted on facebook and thought I'd share it incase people wanted to ask a question. Before the chat started there was something written about Dave having the chance to read and publish the questions of his choosing. Kind of lame

Dave Pericak:
A few of the Boss components will be available via Ford Racing. However, the Boss engine is purpose built and will only be available in the Boss.
I want me that quad exhaust and intake manifold for my 5.0!

Scripted "town hall" meetings are all too common. Otherwise all the questions come up as, "What about the imploding engines?" And, "Why did you scrap certain Mustang GT's in production?" They'd rather answer questions that the Public Relations folks deem "worthy" for the general public and not ones that might be incendiary.

Ahhh...

Well that sucks.

Guess he didn't like my question about why the auto tranny cars don't have a manual shift mode.

Even if true (who knows for sure other than Ford), you really expect them to publicly admit those disastrous mistakes and tell you how and why they happened?!

whats it like to be the chief eengineer of the ford mustang Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:06 jordan cintra
The text of the chat session, if you look he clearly says SOME of the parts will be available thru ford racing from the boss. I would hazard a guess that the intake manifold&exhaust system will def be made available. I would think the seats minus the stitching possibly the rear seat delete w/cross bracing, the front splitter from the regular boss, wheels I would think for sure both editions or maybe just the regular boss wheels that look like upsized minilites. Anyone else care to venture on what parts will be made available?

Dave Pericak:
We never stand still on team Mustang and we are always looking at our engine line up. Currently we have world class engines 3.7L, 5.0L and 5.4L and we just announced a major upgrade to the 5.0L that lives in the Boss 302. Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:12 Dave Pericak

the new boss mustang will it have a supercharger? Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:23 Nathan

1:26
Dave Pericak:
True to it's heritage the Boss 302 is a naturally aspirated engine. We built it off of the 5.0L engine that we just introduced in the 2011 GT. Don't forget, the GT500 utilizes a supercharger to achieve 550HP. Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:26 Dave Pericak

[Comment From Keven SoenenKeven Soenen: ]
Do you see any competition between the Boss and SVT, as far as what a customer may want? They're touting the Boss as the best yet, but I have to imagine a 5.4L would beat the Boss' motor, I dunno though... Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:26 Keven Soenen

1:32
Dave Pericak:
There are really two different customers for these vehicles. The Shelby GT500 has near limitless power, great for acceleration, and can be purchased in both coupe and convertible configurations. The Boss is more purpose built for pure track performance and road course racing yet it is still drivable on the road. I already told you what vehicle I'm putting in my garage! Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:32 Dave Pericak

[Comment From LewisLewis: ]
How did Ford suddenly come up with such impressive engine innovations for the Mustang, the combination of HP and MPG is outstanding. Why the sudden increase in overall performance? Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:32 Lewis

1:36
Dave Pericak:
Ford as a company is dedicated to producing world class products with matching power trains. We are committed as a company to deliver performance and fuel. We do not believe that we need to make our customers choose between the two and we are proud that we are able to deliver the "and" solution. We are on the forefront of technology and we use the latest and greatest technology, manufacturing, and materials to produce these world class engines. Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:36 Dave Pericak

[Comment From Alex 5.0Alex 5.0: ]
Will the Boss 302 be a one year special edition? or become an option package we can expect for a few years on the GT? Do you see the Boss 302 finding itself in the hands of people who just want a hot mustang to drive around on a regular basis compared to those who want it as a track car only? Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:42 Alex 5.0

1:44
Dave Pericak:
The Boss will be true to it's heritage. There will not be an option package to add to a GT. The only way you get a Boss is to buy one. As far as who will purchase, I hope everyone that wants one gets one! Tuesday August 17, 2010 1:44 Dave Pericak

Wow, that must look just like the script that the Ford PR person handed to the Ford IT person and told them to automate it and put it online...
