Lightened up Vert Profile

I tried lighting it up a little. Can you really call that a hip?

Yeah, and the hip looks smaller on the vert, probably for design reasons they had to.
Coupe will look more pronounced.

Wow that's the first shot you can kinda see where and how far back the side scoop goes.

why would there be a difference from the vert to the coupe? does not make sense for ford to tool up that way, no way i believe that ford would make two different 1/4 panels. maybe a visual illusion that the coupe's hips look bigger.

I like it. It's subtle, just like the original.

Bigger hips aren't necessarily better. Just look at the overstyled monstrosity that is the Camaro.

The side line looks an awful like the 68/69 line and the hip looks more like a ridge.

They Already Make 2 Different Quarter Panels... The Coupe's Quarter Panel Extends All the Way to The Roofline, Including the Door Surround. The Convertible's Includes the Lower Section of The Door Jamb. So Basically They Already Make 2 Different Parts. I Just Don't See Them Making That Drastic of a Difference in the Hip Size Though, Just For Design Continuity.

The Only Real Requirements are that the Trunk and Doors Have to Be Interchangeable. That Was Addressed When They Designed the 2005's. They Originally Wanted to Do a U Shaped Rear Window Like the 64 1/2-66 Fastbacks, But Due to Having to Use the Same Trunk Lid Stamping They Couldn't Do It and Make the Trunk Look Right. That's Why They Just Incorported The U Shape in The Dot Matrix Surround on the Coupes.

The Thing I Really Don't Like Is The Way the Door Now Makes The Transition Into the Quarter Panel. It Just Doesn't Look Good To Me. I Liked The Way That The 05-09's Had a Smooth Straight Line From The Base of the Windshield to The Back Edge of The Trunk. They Could Have Made The Hips Work Without Changing That Line. But They Changed the Doors Because It Helps The Transition Of The Doors Into The Quarter Panel Look Better With The Hips.

As For This Profile Pic, I Believe It's An Obvious Photoshop. Using the Reveals and Piecing them Together. It's Too Grainy and Fuzzy.

You're right. Look at the wheels/wheelwells. Exact duplicates.

That's Because It's Not A Scoop Anymore Think More Like The Ridge that Ran Down the Side of the 71-73's.

This Picture Actually Reminds Me A Lot of This One From Brad's Archives.

The Ridge Actually Becomes a Crease as It Runs Through The Door Handle, that If You Look Closely At This Spy Pic, Continues Through The Gas Door All the Way To The End of The Rear Fender.

It's not a photoshop. It's this photo, which is the full version of this photo, to which I added the wheels from this photo, then doubled the size and lightened it up.

Adding the wheels makes it a Photoshop.

Hrm, always thought the camovinyl was covering the scoop/scallop to fool us into thinking it was like that... but maybe your right there is no scoop anymore.

I think it's still there. As much as we've dissected these spy shots, that camo is still doing exactly what it was designed to do.

I agree. Thats why I chuckle a little when I hear posters saying they hate it and it didnt do anything versus the current stang. Or they say no real changes, wait until you see it uncovered!

The Scallop is still there. the question is, does it tie into the upper body line and become a scoop, or are they two separate body lines. I am leaning toward two separate lines, although I wish that they formed the C shaped Scallop of old.

Just Pointing Out The Obvious

I'm Sorry Brad But That Makes It a Photoshop, or a Chop or Whatever You Want To Call It. As I Stated, It's Just Pieces From The Reveals We've Been Getting Pieced Together. I'm Not Knocking It Just Pointing Out the Fact That it's Not An Official Released Pic of the Profile, Unless You're Telling Us That You Have The Full Photo and Have Just Been Holding Out On Us ....LOL

I'm Not Saying That There is No More Scallop, I'm Just Saying That It Doesn't Connect With The Upper Line . It's Not A Scoop. There is Still Obviously a Hint of a Scallop At The Back of The Lower Body Line Visible In The Pic's, But That Upper Ridge/Crease Runs From Behind The Front Fender Flare to The Rear of the Car Now, As You Can Also Clearly See In This Same Pic.

When You Look at the Other Side of The Car You Can See That The Crease Runs Through The Gas Door All the Way To The Edge of The Rear Fender. It Almost Looks as If It Is Slightly Concave Beneath The Crease Through The Gas Door.
