I think that might be what is happening to mine. I just talked to a Ford Customer Service Rep who said that my car was pulled back from being shipped on the 13th and sent back to the Factory. She didn’t know why, but said that she was going to find out what’s going on by Friday.

I'm thinking about cancelling my order. I'm tired of waiting.

My 2011 GT/CS will NOT be shipping

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I received word earlier this afternoon from my dealer that Ford will not be shipping my GT/CS, which was built on 5/4 and is still sitting in Ramp 51. They didn't explain why, only that it wasn't shipping and they were going to fast-track a replacement. The word is that mine is one of 18 VINs that will not ship (out of thousands, how lucky am I??) but I have no idea why. But all's not lost, I've had second thoughts about the CS package anyway, and now this is my chance to swap it for basically the same car but with the Brembo brake package, which was going to be my first mod on my future ex-CS...

Mine was built on 5/4 as well. . . and hasn't shipped. Hmmm....

Yeah, I was promised a call "within 5 business days" last week. Still waiting. My ETA was 5/14.

I don't mind waiting. I just want to know why they can build the car in 2 days but can't ship it in 30. Or fix it.

Well, I do mind waiting. Mine was built on 4/15 and still hasn't shipped!

If I have to wait untill August for a replacement, or they don't tell me why it was sent back to the Factory then I may cancel and wait untill they have been out for a while. I not sure I would want a car that may have been wrecked, or have some weird problem. In other words, I don't want a lemon!

In the bad old days, they would have patched the cars together and shipped them regardless. I'm glad to see Ford putting quality first in this case.

Maybe it would be better to just cancel and go looking for what I want?

Thanks for posting Thread! It makes me feel a little better!

I got in touch with a contact of mine at Ford. He told me that all 18 VINs were CS cars. They were rejected and deshipped because they were accidentally installed with the "Oregon Special" package instead. This includes replacing the pony on the front grill with a buffalo and a special vinyl package in celebration of Klamath Falls.

That's still nicer than the special package on the Camaro: duct tape, cigarette burns, and a random body panel finished in primer gray.

I just talked to Ford CS.

Confirmed -- all 5.0's are on hold with NO expected ship date.

I then reminded her that mine was NOT a 5.0. Then I got, "Oh. Well then I don't know."

I still wonder if some day I will get a recall letter - or if all this hold stuff is BS.

I'm pretty sure by the number of cars parked in Flat Rock it's not BS. Maybe the new QC guy that used to work for Yugo let yours through.

It's crazy that all of this is still going on. I got my 5.0 delivered last week and my dealer had at least 3 more in the lot.

I wonder why some are slipping out and the rest or "on hold." I guess they're just very slow to fix whatever is going on.

I think the hold is a recent thing. Mine was on a truck ready to come down here and it got pulled off and sent back to the Factory. Looks like it might be a while before I get mine.

I look at it like this, if Ford told me, "Hey, we built a few thousand cars but found a few needles in the haystack with issues. One of them was yours. We're sorry and we're building you a new one," I'd be disappointed but fairly happy. This issue sounds extremely limited and not mass defects across the cars. I'd be happy they found the problems before it shipped instead of bringing it in for service regularly. Of course, the "We're sorry," communication is important in that statement.

I dont know whats wrong with the 18 C/S but you will go to a 01 Priority most likely. That means you will be first scheduled build and first shipped.

Attn: Future GT/CS Owners

Take this with a grain of salt but just spoke with Dealer, their Ordering Rep is under the impression that GT/CS equipped cars are being held due to lack/faulty 402option parts.

I do remember an article related to Ford's 11,000 preorders, reading something about them being surprised by the demand for the CS but that was months before production even started and wouldn't explain why so many non/CS cars aren't being delivered.

I decided to call them on their bluff and offered to sign a waiver in order to get the car delivered, stating dealer could install parts later, I'll keep everyone posted.

I'm just hoping that I won't be getting a TSB in the mail in a few weeks/months telling me that there is something to needs to be fixed.

I won't be able to give up this car.
