Leasing a stang

Curious if anyone leased or was looking into leasing a 2013 or 2014. What kind of residual and money factor is ford credit offering on GT or Shelby's?

Anyone know if these have been in a consistent ball park for the last few years?

Where I'm located (PA), I believe you can only lease the V6 model.

Leasing scares the crud outta me. Too many horror stories about, going over your miles, tire wear etc. Im already completely ocd about my car as it is, that would make it worse.

Over your alloted miles = they charge you for it
excessive wear on tires...judged by them = they charge you
Dents, dings etc = charge

you get the idea

Leasing just requires you plan a bit ahead, understand your mileage and your risk for varying from that average per year. Tires can get a bit complicated depending on lease term. As far as damage normal small dings and scrapes do count as wear and tear over 30-45k leases it might depend on the brand and their desire to retain you as a customer but they are not too picky with them, at least in my experience. I tend to change cars every couple years so leasing can make sense for me.

Regardless it seems from some of the other posts that ford credit does not offer support for leasing the GTs which I guess could make sense based on their 2 and 3 residuals.

I'm in Minnesota and saw a lease ad in the ad space of my yahoo email. If you are in MN it is possible to lease a V6 Mustang.

I leased my '08 GT and the monthly payment was $100 cheaper than it would have been had I financed it and that was with 15k miles a year. Worked well for me at the time and I would do it again for the right deal. I don't know how it is in other areas, but Ford dealers around Metro Detroit often have good lease deals advertised especially before it starts getting warm.

Totally disagree.

I pay $248/month and after three years, I get to hand in that car and get to pick up a brand new one.

If I know I'm only keeping the car for three years, what's the point in paying for the whole car?

Exactly! Why should I pay for the whole car when I can pay for the portion I use for 2 years? My cars are always under warranty, don't have to put new tires on and I'm driving the latest model. Don't have to worry about selling cars or a dealer lowballing you on a trade in. Not everybody cares about modifying their cars either. If anything, leasing is a terrible financial decision for Ford Credit, not the consumer.

Plus you dont ever have to worry about someone asking you how long you have "owned" your car or how long it has been in the family. In addition, you can disregard that joyous feeling of modifying the car to your tastes or as a hobby with your children, also passing the car down to a son or daughter, or that silly feeling of having a title in hand and building credit for future purchases.

Forget sentiments and symbols of accomplishments! Like a puppy or aging wife, ...you can just trade them in for a newer model!

Never realizing that you are actually trading something you never owned in the first place.
But alas, should someone ask you, "Is that your car?"...Your reply should be yes and no to their presumptions.

Oh the sentimental old fools! (Yes I am.)
