It's an iPhone and it used to only read the texts, no sender ID and I couldn't respond. Now it won't even announce an incoming text and read.

Figured it out. It wasn't SYNC. I had unlocked my phone screen and forgot that it has to be locked to recieve texts (which itself is odd). Now it will read incoming texts again but still not allow a reply. Although when I hit the Reply button it does show the senders name, which I don't think it did before. It still doesn't show the senders name when the text is being read. But it does if I hit Reply. Strange. I really wish SYNC could figure out how to work with iPhone on the reply messages.

I cannot get 4.4 to load. Not sure it is worth the aggravation just to have Bluetooth audio show song title and not change source when you turn the ignition off. Has anyone had the dealer do this? Is it covered under warranty?

I did my Mustangs but I had trouble with my wife's (our) Edge. She took it to our Ford dealer and they did hers at no cost. We have a good relationship with the dealer, but were also old and ****ed up people

Hi tucsondivots,

Each dealership is independently operated, so pricing for goods and services can vary across dealerships. What happens when you try installing the update? Let me know, I'm happy to help!

Barb, does the 4.4 upgrade not improve the iPhone ability to send text message? Thanks.

Hey DrDisney,

The 4.4 update is designed to improve the overall performance for the Bluetooth and phone connectivity features of SYNC. However, the texting ability is a phone-dependent feature, and compatibility varies based on the type of phone, carrier, and phone software level. Check out the following link to see if your specific iPhone has been tested to text with SYNC: http://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-t...with-sync.html

Keep me posted if you have any other questions!

Barb
