Just got my new 2011!

Just got my 2011 Mustang GT today! Kona Blue! 19" wheels, 3.73, premium interior package, comfort package, hood scoop! This car is absolutely amazing! Any suggestions on breaking the engine in or taking care of the paint?

Congrats. Drove it like you stole it and don't crash into anything.

Also interested in this question. Within a select amount of miles, are we not suppose to go over a specific RPM or maintain a specific speed on the freeway or anything like that? Is there a 1k mile break in period?

Many people will claim no break in period, others will cry foul.

My advice. Just drive it normally. Don't go on a 1000 mile trip staying at a single rpm. Go through the entire range. So in other words, just have fun!

Use high quality polish on it too (Meguiar's, Zaino etc.).

I was told you are supposed to vary your RPM. My salesperson and some forum members suggested letting it rip occasionally, so I'd red line it once every other day.

There should be an owner's manual in the glove box. It will give you information on a variety of topics, including break-in. I'd recommend reading the whole thing.
