Insurance "endorsement" for mods
Insurance "endorsement" for mods
Does anyone have an insurance "mod endorsement"? I read Farmers offers one up to $10K, but the mods have to be street legal. I know if I total my car, I'll be out a bunch of money. My E-Force is street legal so I was gonna look into it.

Tommy... I'm not sure of the term "endorsement insurance", but perhaps that is what it's called. I've been with my insurance for so long, all I do is tell him what mods I put on the car and how much it's worth, and he adds it on. I would assume street legality is a must. All my mods are, I guess.
But yeah, just call your insurance and tell them you had x and x added and it's worth y and y, then voila.

Every insurance company calls it a different thing, but ask for an aftermarket equipment rider and they'll know what you're talking about. Normally they just ask for the replacement cost of the mods and factor the additional coverage into your premiums.
