Impressions after a Week with My Canadian Grabber Blue 2011 GT
Ford has to quiet the car down to compete with foreign sporty cars. It's about making a nice riding/comfortable car. It can't be that if it rides like a tank and you have to turn the volume up to 15 on the radio. I drove a 2011 V6 and thought it was a very nice drive/ride. Smooth power is nice.
Baer brakes makes a cool 14" rotor upgrade for both the front and rear that if you search around a little you can get both sets for about $1100-$1200.
Félicitation Martin, nice ride, i bet you just can't wait to track it at Tremblant !
Can't wait to see the vids, i could be onboard to shoot the vid if you want. I'll try to loose a few extra pounds so your track time won't be affected.

As you will see in this picture, this team has further upgraded the front brakes for track use, while they've left the rears alone. I wouldn't spend the $$$ upgrading the rears until you've found that it's absolutely necessary.

Confirmed, according to the car's hero card.

I was expecting more low end torque as well, just didn't want to be the first to say it...
I am hoping that it's just a tune away, i do get the feeling there is some throttle control going on with these cars and if there is i wouldn't doubt if there was some torque mgmt going on as well.

No, the problem is the motor makes it's peak power and torque at higher RPM than before,
There are also gov't standards for noise that manufacturers have to meet. I recall reading that when Ford went to a larger exhaust on the 10 GT500 they had to reduce the blower whine to compensate for the louder exhaust.
That is exactly the reason for a quieter exhaust. There is a federal pass-by noise standard the cars need to pass. The test is run as follows... car rolling in 2nd gear, pass a marker and go WOT, and the 2nd marker (I cannot recall how far away) there is a sound meter. The sound cannot exceed a certain ammount. With the power of this car, it is passing the meter near redline and making a lot of noise. So the mufflers need to be toned down to pass this test. Same thing happened for the '03/04 cobras... they made enough power + the blower noise Ford had to put on a very quiet exhaust to compensate.
