Like everyone else said, love hate relationship. I decided to be a glutton for punishment this time around as well. It had been a long time since I had a black car, and now I remember why. Can't even pull out of the yard without it looking filthy (to my eye at least, others don't even notice).
That being said, I'd still do it again on this particular car. I'd probably opt for a different color on just about any other car I buy, and if this one was a daily driver instead of a toy there's no way it would have been black.

I swore I would never buy another black car and I kept that promise... But I bought a Lava Red car and that's probably just as bad! :-) don't have it yet but can't wait to get it. Here is a pic of my black '01.

WOW!!!
I love looking at immaculate black cars. The paint almost looks wet in some of the photos.
My personality is such that I could never own a black car. I'd see the dust on it, and wouldn't be able to resist pulling out the microfiber towel and Quick Detail spray/mist. Or if it had gotten past the point of fine mist and microfiber, I'd have to wash it. And then any water spots would have to be waxed... And this would be every day.
But I am thankful for guys like you who are willing to make the sacrifice!

I keep a clay bar handy expressly for removing bugs form the fronts of my cars. Works like a charm, doesn't harm the paint.

Unfortunately I will now need to spend a bit of time on my car this weekend. Took a trip in to downtown Denver an parked near a grove of trees. Needless to say there is pollen all over the car.
It seems to be coming off with a mild detergent. I'll likely have to clay bar and reapply the sealant this weekend.

Clay will take you back to square 1.

Wet a dryer sheet and the windshield, bugs will wipe off super easy. I don't trust it on my paint yet but it get's rid of bugs like nobody's business. I finish off a little bit of stoner's invisible glass to get rid of the streaks. Takes me less than 2 minutes.
