I joined the Fender-Bender Club.

I got hit on the Interstate and it could have been really bad. No
airbags deployed and no one hurt. I will give the AdvancTrac
credit for helping me get back in control, normally I would have it
turned off but I'm glad it was on.

Glad you're ok and it wasn't too serious. Also glad you ESP system helped. That's what they do. I only have mine off at the track. Sport mode for spirited street driving.

Advance Trac has saved my bacon before. Went sideways on the highway trying to avoid a wreck that started just in front of me. Kept me in contol and got out of that slide without hitting anything or anyone and I drove home with a prestine car.

Glad you are all right. Now time for a wheel and tire upgrade

I consider myself a good driver and the AdvanceTrac made it a lot easier. The wheel took most of the hit and survived so I will keep them and the Pilot SS tires.

Ouch... so sorry to see that. You had one of the best looking cars here. Did someone side swipe you switching lanes or??? How did it happen?

Good luck with the fix!

Glad to see no one in this thread talking about how they don't need AdvanceTrac. Unless you're a professional race car driver, you're not better than the system is, especially on the street.

You might want to have your axle checked as well and make sure everything is still lined up.

It's at the Ford Dealer and they are going to look at the rear axle because the wheel took a hard hit.

LOL - darn right Alex. Although, I think everyone is capable of having a beater. hehe. Just search the classifieds or workplace market, and find a pseudo reliable beater for anywhere between $1k - 2k. That's the same price that most of us pay for decent mods. All we have to do is sacrifice those mods for a little bit of time then voila

But dude, sorry to hear that!!! You scratched your new wheels?!?!?!?!?!?! Nooooooooooooo Get 'er fixed up asap!

Oh yeah dude - we are car guys for a reason. Anything small like that, even though for example, no one can see unless way up close, etc... it will bother us because WE know it's there!

Let's see pics post repair. Should be all good.

FYI...... The Dealership price to fix it was $6927.29 and Ford charges $1000 for a Brembo/TracPac wheel. I should have my car back in a week fixed with all Ford parts.

I've done the exact same thing to my passenger front Brembo wheel when the car was 2 months old. Also took a chunk of the Pirelli with it. I have to admit it's challenging in these cars to judge how far you are from the curb due to seating position.

I got the wheel repaired in my driveway by a mobile aluminum wheel repair guy. He did a great job. You can only notice if you look closely under the Pirelli logo. I still have the same tire on the car. But will be replacing all 4 this fall.
