I have a question about the tape stripe
Can it be removed without damaging the paint? I've had salesmen tell me it can and others tell me it can't.
Just to be safe I ordered one with the tape stripe delete.

Yes, vinyl stickers can be removed without damaging the paint finish. I had the Mustang stripe removed from the bottom of my 2008 by the dealer.
