I finally ordered my 2011 Mustang, but it sure is a cutthroat business
Last week I emailed about a dozen dealers in the Atlanta area trying to find the best deal on our new Mustang. After getting all the offers we decided to order from a dealer very close to where we live at about $250 over invoice before the rebates. Yesterday, we placed our order.
Today, I had a sales manager from another dealer call me. Last week his internet sales person told me he couldn’t go any lower than about $800 over invoice. Now the sales manager tells me he can sell me the car at about $400 over invoice. I told him that I had already ordered from another dealer.
That didn’t stop him from telling me that my $750 rebate coupon was about to expire on Monday, 6/28. In fact, he has emailed twice and another person from the dealer has emailed telling me the same. I tried to explain to both that the program was extended to 9/1 and that I had ordered another brochure to cover myself either way.
I know there are some very honest people in this business. I just hate dealing with the ones who are not.

Would you mind listing a few dealers you contacted and who gave the best deal? I know member coffeejolts had a wonderful experience at Mall of Georgia Ford. I'll be in your shoes in a month or so when I order a Job 2 car, so any details you'd like to share would be appreciated. Thanks!

I ordered brochures for my wife and myself for 2010's and 2011's over a month ago, maybe 2 months ago and I haven't received any at all! I even got an e-mail stating that they had sent the brochures.

Check with a local dealer. They may have you in the system as receiving the coupon.

Want me to hazard a guess? Atlanta area and 250 over invoice sounds extremely familiar. ![Wink](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
By the way, what'd you get? There's a lot of V6s around here, but GTs on lots are like some form of rare bird. GT Coupes seem to disappear within days of them landing on the lot. Convertible GTs seems to be all I can reliably find. I'm just glad I ordered.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm curious, though- will I need him to check under every variation of my name I provided?

When my time comes I will give my local stealer one chance and that is it. Then I will go to Jeff 05 Gt and order because he is i the know and a Mustang guy. I will not play games. My cousin runs the show at my local Ford stealership also. He has no clue about Mustangs and I hold it against him. I want someone who has a clue about Mustangs and that is Jeff . My cousin can suck mud.
