Very interesting, especially this picture [http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j.../DSCF0051.jpg], which confirms some suspicions:
It does seem to have a "hip" now, being somewhat '69-'70 Stang in appearance.
The side scallop seems to be more, well, scalloped with a bit of a ridge effect defining the top and carrying into the rear fender a bit (rear fender might flare out a bit to blend with it).
I guess where the current Stang is an interpretation and amalgam of 1st and 2nd gen cues, this one might be more a puree of 2nd and 3rd gen elements.

I have a feeling the hips won't be as pronounced...
More of a sweeping line up say 2-3 inchs to raise the line. from front to back.
I think it'll look good.
They probably didn't want to copy the charger/camaro as much having the large accent hip

It's probably a trick of the camo, but it almost looks like there could be a vent on the leading edge of the rear fender, as per the '69. Or it could just be the way the camo is being pulled. I guess it would also look a little odd sitting at the top of the C scoop.

Ford was probably constrained by not wanting to have to change much if any underlying structure, windows, etc. to keep cost in check.
That said, I think it will look good as I've always thought the hips were pretty iconic to the Mustang look, right up there with tri-lens tail lights, side scallop and overall long hood - cab backward ;-) fastback silhouette.

The hips will be like those of the charger. You can't see the difference from far away but are more pronounced the closer you get. No problem Tony. Its great, I have 13k on the odometer now and let me tell you its the most comfortable ride I have driven. I have done a few mods, but am still planning on purchasing a 500, just waiting on my time
Don't blame ya - I would love to have a white w/blue stripes (or Tungsten w/grey - too bad they don't make them now)!
Yeah, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the 2010 Mustang myself. But, after seeing these latest spy pics, I think it will be a good looking machine.
Hmm, will I trade in my 2008 Mustage for it? Only time will tell!
