I crossed 1000 miles!!!
I turned 1000 miles today!!! Yay!!! I truly enjoyed my first 1000 miles in this car. It is THE best car I have owned, and definitely the most fun. My other cars didn't get my blood going like Marilyn does But I would just like to say thank you to you fellow forum members who have contributed and answered some of my questions, and for just being a great resource. I enjoy this forum and the input you all provide.
To semi-celebrate this occasion , my best buddy and I took the afternoon/day off so we took about a 45 mile cruise over lunch, stopped to get some sushi, then drove some more, and took pictures along the way.
Problem is.... he drives a 2007 Vette vert, in pristine condition (I should know, I helped buff it ). Hehe... but we had a great time. If I could have it my way, I'd own both cars in my garage. We ended up switching cars on the ride back, and it was a blast to drive his. Did you folks ever do that? We're always behind the wheel of our own cars, we never get to see or hear our own car driving down the road. It was nice to see how sexy our stangs are. But yeah, the vette and the stang, two totally different cars in terms of looks, feel, drive, and symbolism.
But anyways, we had a great time... it was a long time coming. Weather was perfect, and the sushi was GOOD.
Here's some pics to chronicle our great afternoon. I'll let you all decide which is America's icon (yes this is a mustang forum hehe). Enjoy. p.s. for those of you avid detailers, my car is covered in Petes 53, while his was covered in Fuzion.
Oh, and before I forget, yes the sushi was GOOD.

Congrats man - 'bout dang time you hit 1,000 miles. I'm almost to 23K!
Doing the car swap is fun - my first time doing that was last fall with my uncle and his '01 Ferrari 360 Modena:
When we swapped cars, he took off in my 'Stang and I had to get up to 90 in the Ferrari just to catch up (not that I minded).
Can't wait to do that again this summer up at Road America with my uncle and my dad in his '12 Vette too. Obviously, we're a family quite concerned with fuel mileage

This is sad, but I owned the car since mid November of last year, but only drove it for about 1-1/2 months... then back on road again this mid-Feb. So it took about 2-1/2 months or so to reach 1000 miles. Sad, I know I need to drive her more often.
It's definitely bait!!! but yummy bait.... mmmm
Kyle you lucky dog you. You drove a FERRARI? dang.... How does it compare? or does it even compare to our stangs???

Yes, I'm definitely a lucky guy - my uncle is the reason I'm so passionate about cars. When I was 14, he gave me a ride in a '97 Cobra convertible and said, "if you tell your mother how fast we go, I'll kill you ". I borrowed his brand new BMW 330i for senior prom. And he let me drive the car for two separate 30 minute track touring sessions at Road America a couple years ago. Unbelievably fun, as long as you can block out the fear of hurting the car, since insurance doesn't apply out there on a racetrack. My reassurance was knowing my limit was probably barely 50% of the car's, so as long as I didn't do something stupid like braking in the middle of a turn, the car would do fine.
Anyway...sorry to hijack the thread a bit!

Have had mine since Oct 28th...just broke 700 miles yesterday.....will be adding more today.
Your car looks great...as usual......my boss ( a young guy mid 30's...I am 54) has a 2010 Corvette Gran Sport ( and a G35 sedan)...took me for a ride last summer in the Vette and asked if I wanted to drive it...all I could think of is this....I work in an office of about 1,000 people and I didn't want to be known as the guy who crashed his VP's Vette...so I politely declined!!! His reply was...that is what insurance is for!!

I hit 10k today! Ive swapped with my friends rides all the time. Best experience though had to be driving my buddy's Ford GT! That thing is my dream car and getting the chance to drive Fords best was simply amazing. The power, feel, prestige, it was all better than i couldve imagined! Now for the dilemma, get a 15 Shelby, or an 05-06 Ford GT
