I am debating selling my 2011 Mustang for financial reasons, talk me into/out of it
What are you going to get out of going out 2-3 times a week? Eating God knows what from a restaurant, and hanging out with people that like you only because you buy rounds. Just what do you expect to gain from that lifestyle? Keep your car, save some money, stay home and cook. Keeping up with the Joneses is not that smart.
That is a good plan. Hopefully you can find a way to financially keep your car. Like I stated above,...sometimes you have to sacrifice one for the other. Good luck!
Hate when money comes up on the forums. We all live in such different areas it really doesn't make sense to compare number amounts. Plus I have a feeling like in real life, the numbers could theoretically be incorrect.
I digress. I live in NYC and if I could afford it (I could) I wouldn't do in this place without a car. and that's WITH our 'world-famous' public trans.
OP, you're right there is a lot to do. And frankly if your GT isn't a part of your socializing I think you're doing it wrong.

If it were me (although it wouldn't be, way different priotities) the best way to have my cake (in this case a Mustang GT) and eat it too (lots of expendable income for food and drink) would be to sell the current Mustang, put the money from the sale towards a nice 2005-06 Mustang GT for $10-12k, if you keep putting your car payment money towards it, you should have it paid off in a few months, and insurance would be less too. Just my $.02 worth.
