How much money do you owe on your car?

36 months @ 0%. I owe about $12k. No reason to pay it off early when you have 0% financing

With the stock market making a small rally the past couple of weeks, I decided to pay cash for it. Today's rise of nearly 2% helped alot.

Zilch, made my one payment and it's all mine! Now...to figure out how to pay for gas. 26 miles to the gallon! HAH!!
I need an accessory to knock my foot off the go pedal!

Gotta quit using so many exclamation marks.

Cash here, too. And, StGry11, I have the same problem with my right foot. I'm at 18.8 MPG currently. Time for a road trip to improve my average.

Yeah it's surprising to see so many members that had enough cash laying around to buy a $30k-$40k car outright in today's economy.

+1.

Roughly 90% of those who verbally responded (so far) paid cash? I would like to know everyone's age that paid cash. I am of the opinion that money is cheap right now and if you can get a great rate, why not finance? You should always be paying on something, right?

I do understand not wanting to owe anybody any money so I will probably pay cash too.

I don't think Ford would ever release the numbers, but I bet a very high percentage of Mustang buyers finance the vehicle. Like in the neighborhood of 90%+. Of course, that is just a guess. Fiscal responsibility is something a lot of Americans do not have. Lets not even talk about the mortgage/foreclosure fiasco. It's in our nature to go big - often beyond people's means. If you can pay cash money - do it. 0% financing is also a no brainer.

I've got the ***** to post. I forgot how much I borrowed. Something like $32000. I've paid payments of $1000, $2000 and $3000. Would have been more but was paying aggressively on another vehicle. Now that I have it paid off I expect to be making payments of $5000 per month.

Then I'll save a little ($5000 or $10,000) for a down payment and get a F-150. Then I'm set for a while.
