Who knows if you got a good deal or not? If you posted the question to make you feel good about your "Purchase", then great...Hope it does and you enjoy your car for the next three years.

What you "Paid" for the car is $10,928 plus whatever the buy-out is at the end of the lease..(should you choose to become an owner)
It's great that you were able to buy your car cash but that doesn't make leasing a terrible idea. Leasing a car with the intention of buying at the end is a terrible idea. But hey. If you sold your $35k car in 3 years, what do you think it would be worth? Maybe 20k? Lets say 22k. Especially with the imminent re-design. What if the MT82s just start randomly grenading? Even less value. At that point you've taken the hit yourself. In the case of the lease, i have a guaranteed value after 36 months. Lease companies aren't dummies. They are good at determining future values. I turn it in and go shopping again. So in 2014 I go get something else and have actually paid less money. In 3 years, I've paid for oil changes. Maybe tires. That's it. I never have to worry about car repairs coming out of my pocket because I am under warranty for the entire time I've had the car.

The values above I made up for illustration purposes.

Plan on keeping the car forever? Perfect! You've made the right decision to buy. But that doesn't make someone else's decision to lease a bad one.

MSRP: 36075
Sale Price: 30975 (around 16% off... not too bad)
Rebate: 1000
Tax: 3052 (crazy high in King county)
Down: 6346 (including rebate)
total payments: 32263 (long loan.. oh well, whatever... it's what I want to drive

total: ~38610 and well worth it.

I thought about getting the V-6 in anticipation of increasing gas prices, but I've had 10 mustangs... all of them V-8s. I don't spend money on much else, so why not? I'll just ride the motorcycle more if gas gets too terrible plus the difference really isn't that great between the 2 (if you can keep your foot out of it )

I think the intent of the OP was to discern what the negotiated price was after rebates and such -- not to analyze the long term out of pocket cost.

He did put down his monthly payment over his three year lease. It only makes sense for everyone else put their true numbers.

I didn't think they gave 0% for 72 months. Who gave you that? I might buy another mustang with that deal.

Why all the interest (pun intended) in everyone's financial situation?

Not interested in their financial situation. Interested in what they really paid for the car. The great deal I got on mine is still going to be 61k when I'm done paying for it.

They did for the 2011s. Excluding GT500s. I got the same deal.

I think he just wants to point out that the price others have listed aren't really what they are paying if they financed it.
