I feel sorry for you guys that live north of the Mason Dixon. Here in AL we put Z rated tires on the cars and drive them year round. lol Actually mine is still rolling on the BFG's they put on the six cylinder and it's a decent tire but when they wear out I think I'm going to go with some Goodyear Eagles to get the better road grip.

Going all year round as i want to get as much seat time in before Dec 21 2012 lol running Michelin Ice ix2's and cant wait for the thrill of a 400+ hp rear wheel drift on the on ramp in six inches of snow also out on the ice rally circuit could be a fun and new adventure and for the really bad days there is the truck if in need to get to work
But i do envy anyone that does not know what a snow blower or snow shovel looks like

Maybe someday when I grow up ;-) I'll have a garage to park it in and a 4WD pickup to drive in the winter instead . . . but for now if I don't drive it, I don't get to work. Luckily I can work from home quite a bit.

That reminds me, I need to get going on those winter wheels and tires!
where in mass do you live?

My supercharged 07 GT is a daily driver - even if it snows. I have Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires (DWS = dry, wet, snow) that will take care of the very light snow we typically get in the Seattle area.

I will use mine during the winter so long as the streets are in decent condition and there is no forecasted ice or heavy snow for the day. I have the stock all season tires. On the slick or snowy days, I will use my old 95 Wrangler.

I have been thinking a lot lately about getting a beater daily driver that is good on gas. Usually the winters are mild here in S.C. Last winter was the first time we had snow in years. When its bad weather we usually use the wife's nissan frontier.

All winter long baby! Although to be fair our winters are very mild (some people think Canada is all snow all year, but a typical Vancouver winter is rain with a couple snows).

Just need to get the GT500 wheels (on sale from Shaun) and winter tires and I'll be ready to go.

Mine will be covered and resting in the garage until the snow & salt go away.

Drove it into December last year. Fingers crossed.

I'm not planning to drive it when the snow is deep, but hopefully we'll have thaws once in a while so I can get it out.

Here in the Chicago area we've been getting 50 to 60 inches of snow the last few winters, with long stretches of deep snow on the ground. These totals are above the average of around 40 inches a year, so I think we're due for a less snowy winter, which would be nice.

This will be my first winter in Vancouver (moved here from Edmonton) Even my GT500 will see use on nice days.
Are you right in Van or out in one of the burbs? I'm on Cambie St just off W.Broadway.

Welcome to Van! I'm from Edmonton also, but moved here back in 96.
You're gonna love the winter here compared to Edmonton (even if this will be the wost winter in decades like people are predicting).
I ive in the burbs (PoCo) but go to Van every day.

Planning on driving mine this winter. I'm in Bakersfield, CA and I've seen snow once in 25 years. We do get some days when it's actually freezing in the early AM. Generally warms up in the afternoon.

Will my summer only tires suffice in this climate??? If I have to replace them, could I get away with 285's on the rear???

Used to commute 52 miles, round trip, from Nashua, New Hampshire to Lexington, Massachusetts everyday. The '06 GT never went out in the rain or snow. She was pristine when she left me.

I'm now retired, but the '11 GT doesn't head out in bad weather either. Thank heaven for my Jeep! There's no snow here, so the Stang gets plenty of exercise all year. I just wish the owner did!

Thanks!! GT500's make good winter beaters. lol We should grab a coffee sometime if you're out this way.
I met a guy with a Grabber Blue w/red stripes 2010 GT500 while I was out driving around in Kits today. My car makes crazy power in this cool weather, punched it in 3rd and pulled 4th at 6000 rpm and the rear tires broke loose like mad!!

Hey Eric it looks like we've both upgraded our cars a bit.

I'm driving mine this winter. Not when there is snow or ice on the ground. These people in the Balkens can't drive worth a nickel.
