How long to purchase the ESP?

How long to purchase the ESP?
Anyone know how long you have to purchase the ESP after taken delivery of your new Mustang?
Just going over the numbers and how a $30000 car can quickly become a $34000 car given taxes and ESP, that's a chunk and I have to factor these numbers into my overall financing. At one point I really wanted that EP but stack on an extra $2k roughly and I'm back up in price. Not terrible but more than I wanted to go for.

Not sure what they were going to charge you for the ESP but it shouldn't be $2k. Or even $1500.

Yep..you have 3 years or 36,000 miles to do it in. You DO NOT need to purchase it any sooner. Try contacting Tony at TDietrich@FD-Warranty.com. You will get a great price but you have 3 years or 36,000 mi. to do it in

Yeah, I don't even have the car so it's not like I can do too much estimating. I don't think I know of anyone on the forum that has purchased the ESP so I don't have a good estimate of what my cost will be. I had assumed about $1500. I do like the loaner service and all that is covered in the ESP. I just want to be sure I can afford what I want and cover it too!
Thanks for the responses, I didn't expect much traffic here.

It used to be that you had until the factory warranty ran out to buy a Ford ESP. However, Ford now allows ESP's to be purchased after the factory warranty runs out, but only if the car passes inspection at a certified Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury dealership. Prices may go up a bit for normal inflation if you wait a few years. Also, there is a $100 surcharge from Ford if you buy an ESP after 12 mos or 12K miles.

I guess I should have set you guys up for a little back ground. Given the options that I want minus the EP my X-Plan totals come to roughly $34069 (w/o HID's), $36589 (w/EP and HID's). Add the 3.55 rear axle, $34438 and $36933 respectively. Now with my measly trade in and hopefully the $1250 ($500 and $750) in bonus cash, totals are down to $30188 and $32683 respectively. Tax in Texas: $32068 and $34702. I estimated about $1500 for ESP (even though I seemed to have overshot this estimate): $33568 and $36202.
I know it doesn't seem like much but every bit counts right now. Spent quite a bit more on the BMW than I had originally planned for but my wife loves it and that's one less thing she can complain about. So essentially I want my payment to be as low as I can get it but still be happy with the car. My pampered *** has seen too many leather seats to go cloth again. Thanks everybody.

Troy sells them for CONSIDERABLY LESS than other dealers. They ARE Ford ESP. I even asked Mark Ostroot at Price Ford over at AFM and his quote was hundreds more than Troy.
If you want good value in your ESP, get with Troy. Been there, done that. Going back.

But never the actual maintenance plans. There are so many things that aren't "done" but rather "inspect and check" or "top off fluids" that anyone with vision can do them. I use the scheduled service guide in the owners manual to tell me what TANGIBLE things I need to do to maintain the warranty.

I've used Ford ESP Premium Care... several times. It is VERY painless (but sadly necessary.)

Pretty sure it's 1 year, 12k miles before the price increases from 'brand new'. So you have that long to think about it without penalty. To quote Tony "the pricing would hold for 12 mos / 12,000 miles or
until the next time Ford raises their pricing (typically in Oct.-Nov.)"
I assume that the other posts mean you Can't buy it at all after 3yr.
