The nav requires me to put pictures onto a DVD or CD. I put them onto a recordable CD, but I get a message that either the disc is bad (no problem opening it on my computer) or that the format is not recognized.

I'm not a computer guy. What am I trying to do here?

You have to make sure you burn it so that it is not re-writable IIRC
