How do you people without the glass roof do it?
I haven't had a glare problem on the instrument panel. There have only been a couple of times when I have deployed the shade while driving, just when the sun was overhead in just the right position so that it was in my eyes, behind the sunglasses lens.
In the rare instance that the sun is in just the right position that it is neither covered by my sunglasses nor behind my head, I simply slide the shade closed. Problem solved. I open it again when the sun is no longer there. It is easy to reach the slide from the driver's seat.
Verts lose chassis rigidity, add road noise, and add many leak points down the road.
Non-glass roof cars feel very claustrophobic inside.
28lbs is the weight of your arm, and based on most of your 5,000 calorie-a-day diets, you could probably stand to lose 28 lbs yourself, fatty.

If I had to do it again, I would definitely NOT get a 'vert (even tho I DO like the vert's roof line both open and closed, and I LOVE my 'vert). I don't think it's been worth the $5K to me. Whether I'd get a glass roof or not is debatable, but I doubt I would.
Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but on the topic of value retention I think the 'vert will retain more of its $5K premium than the $2K glass roof does since it's listed as a separate model in KBB and NADA. The glass roof, being an option on the regular car will diminish in added value until 5 or 6 years down the road when the price guides will give you nothing for it. Still I think it'd be an attractive feature to a buyer.

And to answer your question...My Ford dealership did the QDC TSB with no questions asked.
I've had t-tops for the last fifteen years on GM F-bodies and I don't recommend them. Even without the leaks (which I was fortunate enough to avoid), they are just a bother to remove and stow for short trips. With my vert, I can have the top down in less than 15 seconds without leaving the driver's seat. Even better, I can put it back up in the same time when that Florida "liquid sunshine" comes along.
I like the glass roof, and would enjoy it if I had it... It is very rare on dealer stock cars, and other items on my list had higher priorities...
If I had ordered from Ford, would have spec'd it if it was in the $500-$700 range... I don't see $2k worth of added value

I think for most people it is cost. If I thought I could have swung it, I would have gotten the glass roof and the nav package. So I got the really important stuff, Brembos and 3.73s. Some of us don't have unlimited funds!
I respectfully submit that if you're upside down on the I 10 at 130, perhaps your selection of option packages isn't your biggest faux pas when it comes to decision making.....I'm just saying!
In fact, if you have a glass roof and it shatters in a rollover that lands the car on the side or right side up but the doors are FUBAR'd, extrication out the top would be much easier.
I really liked the look and feel of the glass roof, but I ruled it out based on cost and climate. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the sun for much of the year living in the pacific northwest, and then I told myself "plus it adds weight."
I'm so busted on this too. I've actually changed my diet and lifestyle since I got my '11 last summer, so far I've lost 25lbs. Not a whole lot over that long a period of time, but I like to think of it as a constant driver-mod in progress.

+1, and if you have your seatbelt on it doesnt matter what the roof made of both have exact same rollover rating!
For me it just doesn't seem "Mustang". Nothing against anyone that has one, or any of the other comfort/convenience options. The Mustang has gone a long way with the options you can get from the factory which I think is a huge plus. But as far as my Mustang, it got what I needed. Brembo brakes, 3.55 gears and leather interior. Either way it's just personal preference, I actually kind of miss the semi-cramped interior of my '90 Ford Probe GT.

I would have gotten a sunroof if it was an option. I didn't go with the glass roof mostly because my sister had a large tree limb fall on her car (steel roof) while driving, she didn't get hurt but when i saw the glass roof option for the Mustang........This ordeal keeps crossing my mind.
