I average about 24....mostly highway/country driving with a little stop and go but it always seems to stay constant and I'm not so light on that right pedal either

I am getting 17.6 mpg right now and all and I mean ALL of my trips are 5 mile or less in town trips.

I took it out for w hours the other day in the country because the weather was nice, some WOT and generally messing around enjoying the car and it went to 18 mpg because I hardly ever had to stop. Still haven't been on the highway yet so I can't report on that.
Same exact thing here... 15 in city driving w/ lots of stops. Get on the highway more and I can get close to 20

No, it is not completely accurate. If you watch, the car avg goes down when the car is idling. I have lost 2mpg's alone sitting in traffic one day. Fill it up, reset the trip, and then fill it again. Take the total miles driven and divide it by the amount of gallons use to fill it up again.

My car with 3.73's will only average 22-23mpg's on the highway at 75mph. This was done on a long stretch and I reset prior to the test that was about 3 minutes with cruise on.

Around town I generally do a lot of skip shifting. 1, 3, 5 or 2, 4, 5 depending if I come to a full stop.

Actually that is pretty accurate, you use fuel while you're idling right?
The car knows how much gas it's using, you not counting idling time would make for an inaccurate MPG calculation. think about it

yeah it takes that into account....in my buddy's chevy truck we dropped 12 miles until empty waiting on my sister....same thing with mpg's...just because you aren't moving when the gas is burned doesn't mean it's not being burned...

YES! It can safely run on either, but will make the most HP with Premium.

So you woke up a thread that was last posted in 5 years and 3 months ago to wonder if you should change your plugs for gas mileage

Siber, he actually did the right thing by searching the forums first, before submitting an entirely new thread

New here and read this. I have a 2014 Mustang GT Standard Edition with a manual transmission and 331's. I can drive to the coast and I've gotten as much as 32.5 mpg. In town, low 20's.. so how you drive it makes the biggest difference

Welcome! -

I get about 16 mpg on average, my mpg dropped when I got the track cal tune (used to get 19 or 20), but I'm not complaining - it's not mpg, it's spm (smiles per mile)... and I'm still pleased with my spm...
