Congrats!!!
You're going to have a great summer. Keep us posted.

'13s and '14s look particularly awesome in silver, IMO. Good pick.

Yeah, the one car I tried to get away with no plate (78 Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am) I got stopped in no time.....now waiting for our next round of snow.

But, with the good alternative plate brackets available, hideaway, no drill, etc. you can keep that pristine front bumper for shows.

Haven't got tapped for not having my front plate on the bumper yet, have it currently stuffed up in the bottom of the windshield.

When I lived in Texas, they stopped me once because of no front plate, and I talked my way out of it. I don't think they care. It's just an excuse to pull over a questionable person. In Illinois, I think they are a little stricter. So far in Washington State, no one has bothered me.

Enjoy the new car!
Don't go east of the mountains. The state troopers over there don't have as much to do as the ones on the western side.

Congrats. She's a beauty. Glad you were able to get a little drive time in. That power is addicting.

Welcome to the silver club.

I think my 12 was crying when I drove off.......
Woo hoo! Congrats again, JCStang!

Front license plates are the law in NY too. Doesnt mean any of us car guys follow it.

I use that law to my advantage when i get pulled over for speeding. I plead with the officer to give me a front plate ticket instead of the speeding ticket and its worked 3 times. They get their money and i get no points. Not fail proof of course.

I was stopped for speeding through an area with which I was unfamiliar, a smaller town off the edge of SA suburbs. They're super-strict in these little towns down here because traffic citations are how their city government makes a large portion of their money. He saw me coming, looked straight at me, pulled me over. We had a short conversation about speed in his "little slice of paradise," I told him that despite being from San Antonio, I'd never driven through this part of the county before (which was true), and that if I was truly a menace on the road, I'd have been doing much, much more than 6 miles over the speed limit in a '13 Shelby. He agreed, liked the car, asked how much HP/TQ/top speed, etc., and I mentioned the front license plate being missing because I'm waiting delivery of a front bracket that will allow me to display it without drilling into the front end. He told me, "eh, we use that as a reason to stop cars that are suspicious to us. It's not really that big a deal and we don't get a lot of money from the ticket. It's more work than it's worth to most municipal officers, and SAPD won't even look for it. They've got more important things to concern themselves with." I told him thanks, I'll be more careful going through in the future, and went on my way.

It's a law here, but rarely enforced vigorously.

6 miles an hour over? The average around here is 10mph over.

If I'd have been 10mph over, I'd have gotten a ticket regardless.

I understand, I'm saying around here I'd say 75% of people drive minimum 10mph over with no fear of a ticket.

In and around San Antonio, that's the case as well. Getting out of the city, not so much. These little towns like Helotes (where I was stopped) are super strict.

If you think that's a monster, wait till you drive a GT500! Or maybe you shouldn't.
