HID Guy 8k HID headlights

So i was driving around and decided to get some pic's of my 8k HID's i bought from HID Guy. These are absolutely amazing! Here are some pic's. I choose the 8k's because of my kona blue. these 8k's are cobalt blue so a very very light blue color to them. If you want white only get the 6k's

Looks like a worth while upgrade - thanks for the pics! BTW, what type of wheels (and size) are those? Do you have anymore pics of the car in day light?

Those look great! Looks the same as my 4300's I have in my 95. Not close to as blue as I that they'd be. Good mod!!

if your in it for looks..it looks okay

but thats a brutal beam pattern all over the road, and the glare is ridiculous..clearly you don't care about anyone else on the road lol

This without a doubt. Halogen reflectors are made just for that: halogen bulbs. HID's should only be put behind projectors or cars that come with reflectors designed for HID's.

I'm glad others noticed the glare. Too many people seem to think "it's my car, I'll do what I want and to hell with everyone else on the road."

Ya they are absolutely blinding to oncoming traffic and are very illegal here in Canada!! I had a setup like that on my old 07gt and got a pretty hefty fine for it and they made my take them out! So it was a big waste of money for me! Maybe it's different in the USA though??

No, they are illegal here as well but drivers seldom get tickets for them unless they are really bad, too blue, or they get pulled over for something else as well.

Well there great for vision when ur the one with them but they are blinding for oncoming traffic! I think you shouldn't be able to get them any brighter then the factory hid's ! I wonder If that hid pusher on here knows that his products cause accidents and should ONLY be used for show and not on the streets??

In fact, improperly aimed and shaped light from HIDs in halogen reflectors look really bright but it's mostly glare even for the owner. The "upgrade" actually provides less usable light than the original halogen bulbs did. But man... they sure look brighter so they must be better.

In the days of sealed beams and halogen lighting shaped by the fluting of the lens, the shape and position of the light source was not that critical. But with modern lamps the beam is shaped by the precision optics in the reflector (or projector). Halogen bulbs produce an oval light source in line with the axis of the bulb (the light from the filament). HIDs produce an arc shaped light source that rises above the axis of the bulb because of its own heat. This moves the light source out of position by as much as a centimeter and causes light scatter and glare.

There are other problems as well such as producing high beam and low beam from a single arc. There is no precise way to move the arc to different positions for high and low beam. That's why all OEM HID headlights move the reflector or projector lens rather than the bulb.

The light refraction looks horrendous. The stock halogen housings are not made to support the HID output needs a new reflector and cover- light output is so scattered... probably not the safest option... 8k isn't my taste- but hue meshes well with kona.
