That is a great post and good reading.
Good to know about putting too much power into your stock internals, unless forged/billet. It would suck to twist/rip a connecting rod like that. Bye bye stock block.

All in all these failures are all known quanities in the 'modern' mustang world ('79 to 2014 -the EFI/OBD + SRA era) and its nice to see a concise article going into them all.

These failures have always been and continue to be acceptable in exchange for the power to price ratio these cars have.

Found this part interesting

Didn't know there was a TSB/fix for the clutch for the 6MT...?

Clutch pedal sticks to the floor ('11 5.0, more than 6,700 rpm): An improperly designed clutch pedal is apparently responsible for the clutch failing to release even on stockers. Ford has come out with a service-fix pedal-redesign and upgraded pedal return spring.

The disappointing aspect of this is that it is from 2011; I wish there was a more recent article detailing any known problems up to this point.

Are the cranks in the Coyote engine induction hardened or forged? The article says forged. I thought they were the former, at least in 2011. Did Ford make a change, and if so, when?

I'm happy to have my 13 GT trackpack. I'm not surprised or alarmed. The only thing I need to fix on mine is the wheel hop and it seems a pretty mild suspension mod to deal with that.

The links keep shutting down the internet on my phone. Anyone else having this problem, or do I just have to go to my desktop?
