Soooooo..was supposed to pick up my GT/CS today.... i get there they are still working on the stripes and still need to upload the tune... so I come back in 2 hours and they are uploading the tune and first it say charge battery.. weird but already have jumper cable hooked up to it in case. so it starts uploading get to about 75% and you hear woosh.... the car just dies. No clue why... wont even recognize my keys for it... since it is after hours and were trying to get everything finished there was nothing we could do so she sits there hood open waiting on the morning to call steeda and see whats going on...

Anyone else ever have this problem?

Everything else is installed and working... exhaust, springs, window louvers, double black stripe, The CAI fits and looks great... but cant do anything if car wont turn on..

I have been waiting a week and a half...my birthday is Tuesday i hope i can pick it up before then!

Were you flashing the car while it was running?

Flashing? I was doing it it was the tech..l. so I have no clue what he did...

No I go through Carl Thompson... He is my guy up there

 

So I'm asking again, was the tune being installed while the car was running? ie for the car to go "woosh" and die it was running, no ...?

 

I am assuming it was since I wasn't there at the exact time I cant tell you for sure but from what i hear yes

 

You absolutely CANNOT try and upload the tune with it running!!!

Boy if they did that then you may be looking at getting a new PCM...

 

Well I hoped a ford tech would know that... I will have more details tomorrow i know when they hooked it up it said charge battery so if it said that then the car wouldn't have been on... maybe it was just the shut down of the processor they were describing to me

I wouldn't even try doing the tune upload with the charger hooked to the battery, could send voltage spikes that might damage the electronics.

Some Ford techs can't walk and chew gum at the same time, give them some sort of aftermarket equipment to deal with and you may be in trouble...

 

What does that mean?

 

well these are the same people who did the exact same package to my 2010 GT so I was pretty confident that they could install everything....

 

I was leading up to it and you swooped in and spoiled it. B**tard! lol

yes they aren't gonna screw me over we have bought 8 cars ourselves from that dealership...not counting the numerous people we have referred there... My mom walks in to get a car and they have a running joke that she is gonna get the car but only on her terms so the sales manager that we have had a 10 year + relationship downs about a bottle of Excedrin each time we come in for a car
