HELP!

Hello, I just got a new 2012 base V6 coupe mustang and I REALLY want to push this baby but I was wondering how long it would take for the engine to break in. I would very much appreciate your responses.

Congrats and welcome to TMS! I wouldn't beat the **** out of it for the first 500-1000 miles, but it's good to push it to its limits from time to time during break in.

5000 miles Adrian? That's overkill.

Directly from the 2012 owners manual:

BREAKING-IN YOUR VEHICLE
Your vehicle does not need an extensive break-in. Try not to drive
continuously at the same speed for the first 1,000 miles (1,600 km) of
new vehicle operation. Vary your speed frequently in order to give the
moving parts a chance to break in.
