Headlamp assembly connections HELP
Discussion starter · #1 · 20h ago
Hi I have a mustang 2013 and I want to install RGBW DRLs and Halos. What I want to know is about the Connector connections connected to the headlamp assembly. I believe there are 3 connections, one for the HID bulb, and one for the turn signal and one 12 pin connector (is it for the DRLs?). My idea is that I will be connecting both the new DRLs and Halos to a previous wiring circuit I made for grill LED and interior strip LEDs. The circuit allows the LEDs to light up when car is unlocked. So as wiring the new items to this circuit my questions are: Are the existing DRLs connected to this 12 pin connector? As the new DRL are routed away from 12-pin connector can I remove the connector or is it needed?Everything related to the headlamp is original from car manufacturer. I am planning on opening up the headlamps and changing the DRL to Multicolor ones and add Halos. I found that they only have 2 wires out which is the positive and Negative so to get them to light up on car unlock instead of ignition on I am going to link them with a circuit I did for my grill LEDs and interior leds which light up on unlock. Now what is confusing me is, as I am wiring the DRL and Halo to am external circuit, what happens to the 12-pin connector? Do I keep it plugged in or do I remove it?
