Caught a dang screw in the rear tire. Stupid construction all around where I am, can't escape it. So the $$$ wasting begins...

Hahahahaha! Misery loves company! The same thing happened to me.

I had the car for four days, then put it in storage. Last week I opened the door only to find a dusty car and a flat rear tire (nail). I thought, "247 miles and I have my first friggin' repair bill!"

Bought a cheap-o compressor, filled the tire and then took it to the tire shop for a plug. They liked the 5.0 at the shop though! Lots of compliments...

I think I'm going to get a cheap compressor like you, good idea...

Called roadside, they're on their way to take to the dealer to plug the tire. I should be OK for a long time with a plug right? Don't want to drop $ for a new tire, when this tire only has 200 miles!

Hmmm, maybe they are coming from the factory with that screw. Are the 2012's/2013's coming with the spare tire/jack now? I still have to get to a Ford dealer and buy the "kit" for my 2011. I hate the idea of using their "fix a flat" setup that came with mine.

Then again, there's most likely a few 2012 to 2013's in the boneyard now. I'm thinking I could buy this kit used.....

A month ago, I got a flat on my 2012 Mustang, with only 2,500 miles on it. Took it over to the local Ford dealership, they fixed it fine, however the service advisor said a piece of wood had caused the puncture........never heard of that one. At least the tire is still holding its pressure.
First flat I've had in over 30 years of driving.

plug a POS tire patch a good/brand new tire. I wonder if you took it to the dealership if they would fix it for free. Don't let anyone plug that tire..... Patch it only

The dealer talked me into spending $499 on the Ford tire warranty for situations just like this. I bought the V6 Performance Package with the 19" Goodyear F1's so I thought why not. It'll replace the tire and the rim when something like this goes wrong. I live in Florida and there's always some moron throwing or dropping stuff on the roads...Plus our roads are always under construction so I'm covered from a pothole hit and everything. Hopefully won't need it but a little piece of mind.

The things you can discover in a tire will amaze you. I have pulled out everything from a hot wheel axle. Allen wrenches even the tip of a ball point pen. One time we had a guy come in with his new Mustang had a bolt rammed thru the tire and the rim.

Had to replace a near new (700 mi) Pirelli Pzero on my Brembo GT because of a nail in the shoulder of the tire. Nearly $400 spent on a car I just bought..... Most of this crap on the roads is from people who just don't care or know how to properly secure their loads.

Question. Doesn't this car have a Tire Warranty against flats like "Road Hazzard" maybe from the first year of purchase? I only had the car 4 days, if this is true about the warranty, shouldn't I have gotten the tire replaced at no charge? Anyone know?

That'd probably be a dealer add-on. So unless you signed papers for it, I doubt you have it.

I only added the Ford Wear-Care which coveres, dings, low tread tires, dents, cracks, scratches, etc. But that's at lease end. I thought there maybe have been something that covered tires after 4 days from purchase at least.
