I finally got fed up of waiting; so barring anything from work that would keep me there past 2:30 tomorrow, I have an appointment at a dyno shop close to my work. It's on a Superflow Dyno.

From the limited research that I've done on my own, and talks with Superflow themselves, plus other shops, the Superflow should measure very similar to the Mustang Dyno, i.e. lower than a DynoJet. The Superflow is an Eddy Current Load Dyno. So the game is to guess my actual rwhp, and I'll come back after my appointment and post the video + slips + pics of the results. Those of you who know me probably know my car and its mods already, but in case you need it, here's the lowdown:

2012 5.0
3.73 gears
6 speed manual
Magnuson TVS2300 (3.9 mm pulley, 6.5 to 7psi of boost, Magnuson tune)
K&N box filter in stock airbox (yes, CAI and smaller pulley maybe soon)
Borla X pipe
Borla OTA Corsa Extreme
Currently 8500 miles on the clock.

I think that's all the pertinent info to help y'all "guess" the numbers. Further mods are in my sig.

The shop told me I should get 3 sets of numbers: the actual number, the "corrected" number (atmospheric pressure, etc), the Dynojet-equivalent number. Not sure which is the "real" number per se, but obviously, DynoJet numbers are the highest ones, since it's an inertia dyno. I'm worried about this Superflow dyno, because I hear it measures really low In fact, they call this dyno the Heartbreaker, for obvious reasons.

So here's the game; guess the "corrected" and Dynojet equivalent numbers, with the "corrected" number being lower of the 2. Both will be actual wheel hp, obviously. Whoever is closest (over or under) wins. You can vote in the poll, but put up a post with the actual guesses too.

Remember, I get dyno'd at 3pm CT. To be honest, I'm really just hoping to get 500whp. I know that Magnuson's are known for modest power, great reliability, and ease of install. That's why I got one The Whipple's and Kenne Bell's can blow me out of the water, I know that... but hey, mine's blue. LOL

Ready? My own "optimistic" guess is 505whp. I just hope I'm CLOSE!!!

492 RWHP corrected. Just gonna miss that 500 mark.

Unless you cheat and change to the 8 or more psi pulley, that is.

Guessing the uncorrected isn't quite fair, as we don't know the conditions it'll be run in.

I'm hoping... But I dunno. The shop I'm taking it too specializes in diesel trucks, so they wanted the heavy rollers, and I guess superflows have heavy rollers? No clue... But I'm guessing I'll be lucky if I get 500

Btw I won't be able to switch pulleys by dyno time today...lol. I'd need a different belt, plus a trustable dyno tuner. This shop I'm taking it to I don't think could dyno tune nor would I want them to. This will be a pure strap on and go. Voila. I'll wait till Bob Kurgan is in Des Moines etc... Then I'd have him tune!!!

Yep! My guess too. I'll be happy with 500.

Lol I wish it was 530. Maybe on a Dynojet?

I figured I'd rather be pessimistic then elated, rather than optimistic then disappointed.

My first dyno pull with the JDM tune, I got 560 and they told me I should be at about 540 or so. Needless to say, I was happy

Smaller pulley and re-tune, they told me it would add about 20 hp / 30 tq, it added 31 hp and 50 tq ... I think they do that on purpose so they don't get the customer's hopes up, but whatever the reason, I was very happy with the final results.

So yeah, go in expecting 490 on that "heartbreaker" stingy dyno, and if you get 520, drive out of there with a huge stiffy .... lmao

Kidding man!!! As much as I don't like it, I think you may be right. I need to lower my guess. Under 470. That way if I get 472whp, I'm HAPPY.

LOL... stop copying my threads (install) and now this dyno guessing...

Also just kidding. Yes, I just thought of it this week, as I prepared to go to the dyno. I figured it's a great way to get my buddies involved and give me crap

Locally, with my buddies, whoever guesses it right gets a free lunch! LOL. If you were all closer, we'd all do lunch.

I say that for two reason; 1. Isn't the Magunson tune conservative? 2. Like you have said go low now and you won't be disappointed. Do I think it could be higher, most definitely. You've got those beefy tires and some suspension mods to help put the power down. I was being conservative.

Aj, was just giving you crap. That's really where I think it will land.... I think you're spot on. And yes, the Magnuson tune is conservative, I know because I talked to the tuner himself lol. It's more for reliability, and longevity, with strong safety factors in mind.

Ok update for you guys, maybe it will change some of your minds:

Weather = 72 degrees, sunshine is abundant. Humidity 44%.

I have to admit, even I feel the loss in power when the temps climb... ugh.... why can't it be WINTER weather here in Iowa when I dyno?

I might have to change my guess to 482 whp....

2.5 hours till D-day of reckoning. Uh oh....
